Starbucks Bans Reusable Cups to Help Tackle Virus Spread

customers would still receive a 25p discount for bringing reusable cups with them, but drinks would be served in paper cups
This seems like a pointless overreaction. I am a Starbucks customer and do take a reusable cup when I go for coffee. Your more likely to catch the virus from other customers coughing nearby
On first reading I thought it was pointless and would agree with previous comments about being more worried about a cough that 'travels ten feet before dropping to the ground'. I then wondered if it is a precautionary measure to protect their own staff? At least the discount will continue.
Yes, at least customers will still get their discount. I don’t blame them for doing this, as you can’t trust people to be hygienic
I don't understand this as if you pay by cash people are still going to accidentally touch and you have no idea who had your change before you. So it's only dealing with part of the problem and if you are only using your cup then how is it going to contaminate?
Agree completely.
If they are doing this they should also banish cash transactions.
Also, people who sit in to enjoy their coffee/cake will leave saliva and hand prints all over the crockery.
I use reusable cups on every visit to Costa, and once I'm done they go in the dishwasher.
