Stay at Home or Stay Alert?

In the News

https://metro.co.uk/2020/05/10/boris-johnson-slammed-dropping-stay-home-new-slogan-12680710/

so the slogan replacing ‘stay at home’ is now ‘stay alert’

if people were not responsive to the previous slogan, I doubt they will this one will make an impact - some may even be ‘confused’...

Do you like this new slogan? Was there any point in changing the slogan? Are we now all about ‘hash tag‘ slogans?

It's a ridiculous new slogan when the idea is the same - stay at home. Of course many will now think the stay at home rule doesn't apply anymore - they just need to be "alert", whatever that means.

It is important that people go outside for some regular exercise. Many are taking 'stay at home' literally and not really venturing out of fear of the virus. Long periods of inactivity increases the chances of developing health issues. Consequently, the terminology did need to change 😷

Lol can’t believe why anyone would take things that literally and not use common sense. But I guess the lack of sense was why they come up with such slogans and the need to spell things out. Now if they could just clarify the mask situation...lol

hspexy I personally know some older people that have not stepped beyond the garden gate since the lockdown began. Their concerns are legitimate as senior citizens are statistically the worst affected by COVID-19, but they do need to be encouraged to go for a walk.

Stay at home stay safe but go out for more walks and shop for items I need to buy ect. I have been limiting how often I go to supermarket but now they have relaxed we just have be mindful and careful I guess. 🙂

Honestly, I think Boris is as clueless as us... really only time can tell in such a situation which the majority of the country need to accept - waiting is the best way to keep safe even if it is driving us all mental

The slogan should be "don't be a stupid **** head".

I recon it should still be the case of only going out when necessary to do so (such as shopping for essentials) and keeping with the social distancing as we where before. I can see why people want it all eased up sooner rather than later due to it all slowing down. But the thing is, its slowing down slowly. I reckon its not safe do ease them just yet, wait for it to slow down some more.

I'll be kind of ok if the English stay out of Wales tbh. It'll stop the spread of the virus and won't overload the health services in areas where there isn't much.

As for people coming to their second homes, DON'T GET ME STARTED.
