I found a painted stone in my town centre & it had an address on the back to post a picture on their facebook then rehide the stone. It got me to thinking how many people do this? have you ever found one? It brightened my day to find it & rehide. There are so many decorated stone ideas on Pinterest that I never even knew about 
Found one in a local country park last year but left it. It was interesting but didn't rehide it myself.
It's a great idea for getting kids out on a scavenger hunt and away from their computer/phone screens 
My granddaughter and myself did this on holiday this summer. I have heard it’s been going on for a while but we found our first stone in Weymouth in August. Such a lovely thing to do.
