It says not to be kept in door but why is it then that the holder is always in there

I keep mine on counter

I have drank sour out of date milk and nothing bad has happened to me. Perhaps we are immortal? πŸ˜€

RegularComper90 Haha i draw the line at sour milk but the girlfriend uses it to make slovakian bryndzovy halusky and other treats - we never throw anything out even our Big hellmans mayo bottles get reused - currently using a load of them on the windowsill to catch rainwater to feed my chillies and all my house plants - tap water is so bad!

We are the eco couple!

lol

Skupy-scotski she says!

garygemmell Well to be honest, I didn't even realise that the milk was a few days out of date until I checked it. I then threw it away. There was only a bit of it left anyway. πŸ₯›

RegularComper90 You are very bad - my mum used to say "there are a thousand poor starving Africans that could survive for a year on what you are not going to eat on that plate , dont you feel guilty? - now eat those brussel sprouts"

haha i can still hear her now!

PS. It never worked!

I bet that phrase was used by a thousand mums in the 60,70's lol

We keep ours on the kitchen counter next to the bread bin. I've never kept eggs in the fridge.

MrsCraig that's where I have always kept but why do fridge doors have the holders if they not meant for fridge door πŸ€”

Ann1984 I agree, I do find that strange. I've never used the egg holder in my fridge, it is removable so I took it out and use it for other things.

Ann1984 pretty sure it's because Americans keep theirs in the fridge, and they have to. No idea why, something different about how their eggs are treated maybe?

Wow just read the link on how to store your eggs and I’m doing it right! I’m amazed. Someone told me years ago they shouldn’t be kept in the fridge. I keep mine in fridge in the pack they came in.

In the cupboard, if they were supposed to be kept in the fridge, wouldn't the shops keep them there?

I think i seen something on this before and apparently keeping in them in the door of the fridge makes them change temperature all the time with the opening and closing. Thats where i keep mine though 🀣

It’s depends, but if making cakes they are best left on the side. For being tidy, best in the fridge.

In fridge because it has a compartment for eggs that stores them so they don't roll around.

Usually store them in the carton in the fridge! When you buy it out the supermarket they are on the shelves

Think about it. Have you ever seen eggs stored in the fridge in a supermarket? And how long do you think they've been on the shelf there? They don't need to go in the fridge.

I've often brought up this question "Why do we keep our eggs in the fridge when the shops don't?" I have always kept mine in the fridge in the egg holder.

Interesting that people have said shops don’t store them in the fridge so why should we put them there! I usually keep mine in the fridge but am not strict about it

At my last food hygiene course the tutor said this was the most asked question. She said they should be stored in the fridge and the reason they are stored on the shelves in stores in because there's such a fast turn over of them from farm to store then they sell fast.
