Suggestion for the Description Box

Feedback

Kelsey Tom I might be pushing it abit 🙈 But when posting a deal, in the description box, sometimes the Bold or Underline function are just not enough- sometimes you need to make something stand out more compared to the rest of the sentence, & making it bold just doesn’t cut it. I was wondering what others think about this, & I was going to suggest, if alongside the bold and underline buttons, like Microsoft Word, if there were to be a Text Size arrow? So we can make certain text big and then carry on the rest as normal. Also if perhaps there could be a font colour change button? For the same reasons as above. Eg if something is extra important to highlight when posting a deal, we could perhaps change the font from size 11 to size 18, and then change the colour to red or yellow, to get the point across.

Maybe this is unneccesary, I’m not sure, but I just thought I’d give some feedback anyway 🙈 Loving the new updates to the site. Keep it up guys! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Thanks for the feedback Shab!

⚠️In the meantime, perhaps make good use of the ‘warning’ and similar emojis‼️

Hmmm yes. I do try to use emojis and the bold & underline function when possible, however there has been certain instances where I wished I could make a certain part of the sentence extra big to make it stand out more. I can’t exactly remember the occasions, but for eg if a deal is expiring in a certain period, eg 6 hours, & you just find the deal 4 hours before it’s expiring. In instances like that, it could be written in a bigger font & red font. I can’t really think on the spot, but there has been multiple times when I wished there was that feature, so I just thought I would suggest it 👍🏻

Playing devil's advocate here... would this not look a little bit trashy? I like the sleek, neat conformity of the text. Adds a bit of class. Je ne sais pas?

It could do, if it wasn’t used properly, but then I guess it’s just a gamble. I’m sure we’re all old enough on here to remember this is a grown up website & not a Primary school IT lesson for 7 year olds, where we will get excited by big fonts and loads of colours. There’s nothing trashy about a few words in a paragraph being red. Perhaps if it was incorporated, Kelsey could just do 3 font colours & 3 bigger font sizes, so people don’t go wild. For eg, a red font, yellow and maybe blue. I’m not suggesting we have a rainbow spectrum lol, because then I understand, it‘ll go crazy & there will be rainbow colours everywhere 😂 Anyways as I said, it was just a suggestion & not everyone will like it, but I just thought I’d put it forward. If you don‘t ask, you don’t get 😊👍🏻

Hey Shab just echoing Tom - thanks for the feedback!

I have to say my initial, personal, concerns are that certain people might go a little crazy if they had font size and colour options and we could end up with a lot of blinding psychedelic deal posts 😁

But as with every feature request, if there's a lot of demand for it we can certainly look into adding it! The existing editor can technically handle font colour and size changes so it's theoretically possible if we all want it 👍

I think it’s a great idea. If used in moderation it could be good for the site. 👍🏻

Why not implement this to those that have posted so many deals/contributors to the site.

That way you know it won't be abused, and if so, just take it away from those that do! It's kinda like an incentive to post good deals...

Hmm but that would get too complicated & too much work for the admin’s 🤔

I agree with Ceebers who says "I like the sleek, neat conformity of the text"

You can do quite a lot simply by using upper and lower case, and asterisks etc for emphasis. For example:

Ugg boots 50% off + EXTRA 15% OFF WITH CODE ***4.9 Stars***

If the deal post warrants a little extra time/effort, you can also make good use of the image to tell the story,

You can do a lot with images just using MS Word and the Snipping Tool. Like this, for example: Image

Hmmm I suppose so, but not all of us use Latest Deals on desktop. Each to their own I guess, but I’m one of the younger ones on here, so us guys in our early 20’s would like a more engaging & colourful website rather than a dull scheme. I just thought that maybe that would help in the captions to spice it up and make it vibrant & also make it easier to get certain things across, but I suppose some of you won’t agree, it’s fine, but I just thought I’d suggest it anyway! 😊 nemosays Johnny
