My son is 44 this month and it will be the usual puzzle of what to get him. He is not wealthy but has a good standard of living so not much he hasn't got. My budget is usually around £50 for family birthdays.
It is pointless asking him as he tells me not to spend on him but I would really appreciate some men giving me ideas of the sort of things they like to receive....thanks.
My brother is in his late 40s and he reckons i buy the best presents over the last few years ive got him an amazon fire stick - he uses it daily, amazon alexa he also uses daily. Xmas i bought him some hoodies but if you dont know what clothes he would wear you could buy vouchers. Everyone gives me money because im so difficult to buy for.
Im obviously not male but ive always been a tomboy and im not girly in the slightest i havent got a clue with girl gifts.
Thanks Kirstey. I must admit my sons and grandsons have practically every tech gadget known to man lol. He might appreciate a nice warm hoodie as he stands around every Saturday and Sunday while his son does footie training and plays matches.
Lynibis ah i know the feeling with my son playing rugby i want one of these https://www.argos.co.uk/product/8880600?istCompanyId=a74d8886-5df9-4baa-b776-166b3bf9111c&istFeedId=c290d9a9-b5d6-423c-841d-2a559621874c&istItemId=ixilqpxtt&istBid=t&&cmpid=GS001&_$ja=tsid:59156%7Cacid:444-797-0832%7Ccid:189949525%7Cagid:18091974325%7Ctid:pla-620677099111%7Ccrid:77627773765%7Cnw:g%7Crnd:997669781142254196%7Cdvc:m%7Cadp:%7Cmt:%7Cloc:1007453&utm_source=Google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=189949525&utm_term=&utm_content=shopping&utm_custom1=18091974325&utm_custom2=444-797-0832&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIopCFy4355wIVxbTtCh0RhAeyEAQYAiABEgIQovD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
KirsteyJames ha ha, that is fantastic, I have never seen anything like it. Trouble is, I would have to get one for daughter in law too!
Lynibis you can get cheaper ones off ebay they also do them in doubles and some singles that you can conjoin so everyone can join together
Does he have a football team? You could maybe buy him a ticket for a match? Or maybe an experience day for something that he would like.
My husband loves stars wars, so has been bought storm trooper jumpers, storm trooper mug, an R2D2 coffee perculator, an R2D2 robot etc.
Is there anything that your son really likes?
Actually you have given me an idea. I could give him a restaurant gift card so he and wife can go for a meal while I babysit.
Lynibis Groupon and Living Social are worth having a look at as they may have some good meal deals near to where your son lives.
I don't know if he's musical but if he isn't. . . he should be! A ukulele could be the perfect gift.
I know plenty of people who've really appreciated the gift of a reasonably easy to play musical instrument, some much older than 44.
Sorry David, none of us are musical. But he might appreciate tickets to a musical. We have a pretty major theatre nearby.
Lynibis He doesn't need to be musical - many who aren't musical are glad of the opportunity to take up a creative and therapeutic hobby. (Joe Brown reckons ukuleles should be given out on the NHS)
My late wife wasn't musical but the autoharp (an even easier instrument to learn) which I bought her as a surprise Christmas present became her favourite possession. So appreciated that my stepson bought his wife one too.
If he's not already got one a Black and Decker Workmate (or similar) would almost definitely be appreciated, they're £44 at B&Q (possibly less elsewhere)- mine was bought for me as a present over 40 years ago.
An experience day is always a good idea - you can get them now that are either specific to what you want if you know what to get (race track day, wine tasting and tour) or you can get generic ones so you buy a £50 gift card for an experience and they get to pick from a list - like this one from Virgin Experiences but other companies also do them https://www.virginexperiencedays.co.uk/gift-card-50?opti_ca=9203856661&opti_ag=98548455812&opti_ad=415364248023&opti_key=pla-488069225672&utm_term=PRODUCT_GROUP&gclid=CjwKCAiA-vLyBRBWEiwAzOkGVFPklu_6gYt4FNQpmiI5l58VAM8WGe7N_XxkkmIvsgZ_aahrR3fYaBoCQzMQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
