Do You Sunburn Easily?
Ask a Question
I am very fair and I burn really easily, so I am a little paranoid about putting sunscreen on. My niece went with her school to the beach and despite putting sunscreen on, although doing a slapdash job, as she only did the front of her arms and legs, is suffering with sunburn.
But I was shocked when reading about a Woman burned after using carrot tanning oil then lying in sun for seven hours
I thought The popularity of fake tan was due to people being aware of the link Sun cancer.
Gosh, those burns look awful! I've heard that the carrot tanning oil is useless, I've known people actually use cooking oil (straight from the bottle) and they've burnt badly too.
I'm very fair skinned and I don't like being out in the sun to be honest but when I do its just my shoulders that go slightly red. I do put sun cream on though. I think the only time I actually got a 'proper tan' was when I went to Israel for 3 weeks when I was 15, nobody recognised me when I got back as I was so tanned
I always cover my kids in sun cream!
I would love to get a tan but I stay in the shade as I remember being burnt as a kid growing up in the 70s I don't think I even saw Suncream .
People are under the assumption if you put on sun tan creams/ oils etc you are protected. Always read the instructions and stay out of the sun during the middle of the day that way you will get a healthy tan.
I burn and just go red so given up sunbathing but I’m sure the damage is done. Years of not wearing sun lotion. I do have a supply of self tans but haven’t really bothered with them during the pandemic, more important things to consider.
I used to when I was a kid I tend to stick factor 50 on and stay in the shade nowadays. People think they look great with their tans but dont think of the consequences of what it does to your skin. If your going to sunbathe wear suncream and sit in the shade every so often or just wear fake tan.
I do tan quite nicely and slowly but always wear sun cream, those pictures look awful, she must be in so much pain.
I’m pale skinned and burn very easy. I use boots soltan 50+ sunscreen, find it works very well. Always a cream and not the spray/lotion. Usually get my husband to help put it on my back (if wearing vest top).
Burned really badly last year having a social distance picnic with a neighbour but didn’t put cream on. Never again, always go out with the highest factor.
Then burns on the photos look awfully painful.
I could never catch the sun and I hated it so I used sunbeds until I was burnt lol it was only when I was pregnant with my first that I started to catch the sun naturally now I just go brown don't even know I've got sun burn till I get in the shower
I tan easily and go quite dark. I love the sun but always put suncream on. When I was younger, I remember my friends and I used to use baby oil when sunbathing. We would proudly show off the white marks where our short school socks had been!!
Always have burned easily Lobster red is my colour never seem to Tan ,usually find me on the beach under a parasol on holiday or if it's this country under the pier away from the sun plastered in factor 50 . Strangely enough thou I still like the sun just tend to be cautious in it.
