Supermarkets Suspend Farm Where Workers Kicked Pigs + Dying Animals Left to Rot

In the News

This disgusted me when i read it

I am not under the illusion that this doesn't go on elsewhere and not just to pigs

If people insist on eating animals at least give them the dignity of a pain free short life that they only have , how some people can class themselves as human escapes me

I struggle with meat eating myself because of the morality of it and such reports just make me think more about the horrors these animals endure. Personally I would have extremely high standards for animals that would mean the price makes it more of an occasional treat. Intensive farming etc is horrible. Lower levels of meat consumption can extend life and reduce many medical conditions too. It just makes so much sense for us to reduce meat consumption. I personally wouldn't import any meat either as the transport of food products is a huge part of pollution. Low value, high weight products should not be transported around the world we should supply our own food products from within our own country.

I agree with what you say B, the other thing i would be concerned about is the treatment of imported animals in other countries .The Uk is supposed to be one of the civilised countries with strict rules and hygiene, imagine other places where they dont have these laws treat their livestock if this happens here

Yes , i wish we could all be meat free and let animals live their lives as we do

There is no need for cruelty. I buy most my meat from a butcher with their own farm

Thats a good thing I , at least you know the animals he raises should have been treated well

The trouble with these big farms , like the pig farm , they employ anybody they can on low wages and these people have no concern for animal welfare and begrudge any extra care they should take because of that reason

You can understand why there are groups of animal rights protesters trying to stop these types of farms when you see and hear what goes on, they have more sense and humanity than most

The people who do this are cowards, they are so inadequate about themselves they need to show some sort of power and control over animals that cannot defend themselves

They should be caged with a gorilla then see who has the upper hand

This is disgusting, I thought in the UK we prided ourselves on our animal welfare standards in fact I had started to buy British because of this. Whilst I am a carnivore, I want the animals to have a good life. Which is why I only buy Free Range eggs
