Swapping Banks?
Ask a Question
do any of you swap banks to claim the new customer cash incentive or is it too much hassle? never done it but doesnt seem worth it with the incentives getting decreased again, what do you all think?
It‘s easy to do, although I’ve only done it twice with no issues. It might be different for others, as well as the banks in question. But the major banks have guarantees in place
I've done it once or twice and no issues for me. Last time was a natwest deal and I got £150 cashback.
I have done it twice and twice they messed up my account transfer
Firstly to Nationwide, debit card failed to arrive on time, not all direct debits transferred correctly, secondly to Halifax again problems with Direct debits/ Standing orders. Both times took a little while to work it out and both times a small amount of compensation paid to me.
I am a frequent switcher and have found it all pretty easy. Haven't had an issue so far, but a tip is just to check that you are definitely eligible for the switching incentive - for example making sure you have paid in a certain amount. I think it's still worth it as I find the incentives you can still get are good.
