Ask a Question

At what age do you think is the right age to introduce a tablet for children to use? And do you feel it benefits children?

I am very much against too much tech for kids if it starts to take over their lives. Having said that it is now very important for them to keep up with their peers and tech is used a lot in schools and as a learning aid. It is mainly too much gaming and social media that I object to as we are raising kids who can no longer communicate properly.

Get them a tablet they will just play games and empty your wallet.

Get them an encyclopaedia Britannica or something educational like a set of kiddy tools they will thank you later in life!

Sad that most so called millenials cannot even put up a shelf or cook an egg - my folks brought me up to do everything - i have nerver paid for a tradesman in my life - i do all my own plumbing , electronics repair, took courses in cooking so can do a mean thai curry - just learning how to make bread and made my first lemon and poppyseed loaf last night and its magic - life is about learning as much as you can and putting your hand to as many things as possible, speaking a few languages and filling your mind with useful and interesting stuff not playing computer games or watching telly all day - what a waste of a life that is but that seems to be the norm these days - besides I reckon i have saved over £100,000 in my lifetime being able to repair and build my own car, do my own plumbing, fix my own tv etc etc etc

Get them a crap tablet so it saves you money and will put them off using it too much. Hand me down etc. Make sure you set it up for young children and have adult filtering on with your broadband provider etc. I guess there are dedicated tablets for young children too which are another option. I feel it would benefit children to use a tablet from an early age.

Amazon Fire Kindle for £30 is enough.

As late as possible really, and with a lot of time restrictions - not all the time.

Because the world is changing they now introduce technology to children at school. I personally have no problem with my kids using tablets but we have restriction with Times and places. The moment there becomes a problem, they lose them Or we reassess when they can use them.

You can get some very educational games now and school have sites they share with you for home learning.

The world is very tech now. They need to be prepared.

Amazon Fire kids have a good warranty. Right now mine has a Samsung A10, it's a solid tablet but big. If you think your kid is capable of operating it or learning how to then they're old enough
