Curious to know how much it costs these days, dependent on where (in the country!) it is done

It used to be about £15-£20 to get it done around Camden market, and in some tattoo parlours around the Essex coast areas. I’m sure it’s way more than that now - a friend got a quote for £85 to get some symbol done along her arm

A friend of mine has a saying.. a cheap tattoo is not quality and a quality tattoo is not cheap. She pays a lot of money for hers to be done by a very good chap, the quality shows

I think if you are having a tatto which is there for life you would want to pay more to make sure its right. I always say you get what you pay for and for something like this i would only go to someone who has good reviews and can really do a good job :-)

I think if youre going to have art work on your body for life you should really research the tatooist and pay the best price you can. I have seen some shocking examples of people who think they can sketch so buy tatoo equipment set up a business and scar people for life with awful ink art !

Usually the higher the price and the longer the waiting list for an appointment the better the end result will be.

I think it is worth to pay more, because the tattoo maker should be professional and clean the needles after each tattoo....I would not go with a symbol, because it is not unique and anyone else can choose it from a book.

I agree. Tbh I remeber a twine when tattoos were so popular, everyone was just getting random symbols inked. The worst ones where those who decided to have a character inked on in a foreign language that they didn’t understand...there have been times I have had to say that that symbol did not mean what they thought it meant!

hspexy My cousin wanted Chinese tattoo...I told him not to do, because Chinese calligraphy is complicated if a line is thicker, it means something else, than what u wanted...

AgnesFaludi yes every dash, stroke and line changes the meaning, and then there are those who want to get a phrase, but sometimes the translation isn’t quite right 😂
