Would You Tell People You Got Married?

My partner and I were meant to get married in June, but because of Covid, we had to cancel our wedding.. we are expecting our first child at the end of September and I wanted to be married before he is born so I’ve booked us in for a registry office marriage now they’ve reopened. My partner still wants to have a wedding at a later date, so we are unsure as to whether we should tell people we‘ve got married or pretend we’ve got married on our wedding day 
I personally would tell the people that are important to you that you got married because you wanted to be married but that you still plan to have a ceremony and reception so you can celebrate with your loved ones.
I would tell people that you have had a wedding at the registry office and that when lockdown is offically over you'll be having a wedding and a reception at a later date when you can celebrate with your loved ones. They would understand.
