Terms & Conditions - Winit Draws
Ask a Question
I have been reviewing the terms and conditions for the various Winit (Bauer media) draws and there are a couple of lines about prize limits
There is no limit on the value of a single prize that may be provided to the individual winners of a Competition. However, no person or persons at the same residential address may win more than one prize valued at £500 or more via any of our Competitions in any given six (6) month period.
If a previous winner (of a prize valued at £500 or more in the last six months) is drawn at random in a subsequent Competition, or subsequent round of the same Competition within six months then they will be disqualified, and another entrant will be drawn. If it emerges after a winner has been awarded a prize that they are a previous winner of a prize valued at £500 or more in the last six months, in breach of these terms and conditions, they will be excluded and the prize shall not be paid or delivered to them.
To me this can be read two ways - ie you cant win two prizes both worth £500 plus in the six months - or is it you cant win anything else if you have won a prize worth £500 in the previous 6 months.
How do others read this? I enter a lot of their comps - but it does take quite a while each evening and I think I have just won a prize worth £500 - so I may have to stop entering for a while!
Wow for one well done on your win been trying for months not won nothing enter all of them eery day aswell but I'd say if u have won over the 500 amount then you carnt win again within the 6 months
Yeah - Im thinking the same the more I read it! I might be ok as I have been informed I have won a prize - but I cant find any details other than a similar prize which was worth £500 - will wait until I get it to be sure
These terms also apply to regular Bauer radio station (Kiss, Absolute Radio, Magic, etc) competitions. I have won a Bauer radio competition worth over £500 in the past. I didn't enter any more for 6 months to avoid the possibility of another good prize being taken away.
If it's not clear then I would take up the pen and write to them to clarify. It seems unfair you have to stop entering if you are unsure of their policy, I would, I'd write.
How exciting! What do you think you have won didbygraham?
My understanding was that if you won a large value prize from Bauer, then you were excluded from winning another prize of any value for six months. It may be worth clarifying with them. You certainly don’t want to waste all that time entering further competitions if you are excluded from winning
When I won with bauer media last year £1000, I didn't bother with their comps for 6 months as I knew they wouldn't give me the prize if by some chance I won again. I think the £500 limit is common with comps. If you manage to get a prize that much or over, probably best not to enter with that company again for 6 months. Congratulations on your win, though. That's very cool.
Thanks everyone. I have emailed for confirmation as I am not sure of the value of the recent prize anyway as I cant remember what it is! Its down as "Winter Wellness Bundle" A google search has found a couple - one of which says its worth £500. I fully understand the £500 limit so will be holding back until I hear from them!
Just to add an extra note to this thread, Winit has just confirmed that the limit is indeed no more wins within 6 months a a win worth £500 or more. They also confirmed that the prize I won was worth £75 (still not totally sure exactly what is is!) so I am back entering their competitions again. This is especially relevant as I have also just been informed I have just won the Echo Falls draw! I am on a roll at the moment! Thanks to all who added to the above - Happy New Year
Wow, congratulations! You are indeed on a roll. What a nice start to 2020 didbygraham
I hate these comps and bypass them. I always feel that if I miss a day my chances have lessened and I don't have the time or inclination to do them every day. It is bad enough doing the magazine comps where you answer a simple question and even then I don't do the choose three numbers as you have as much chance of winning them as the lottery!
I do avoid the ones where you pick the numbers - some of these have been there for well over a year so clearly not worth bothering with. I only enter the ones where there is an end date and its a straight forward random draw. I just pick out the few prizes I would really like to win then look for all the ways I can enter that comp. Then set up all the individual urls in a spreadsheet so I can open them all on one go and simply click through each one. On the bigger Winit draws it take me 5-10 mins to get to 100 entries each evening.
There's around 50 or more different sites providing those Winit comps, and some of the comps you can enter every hour!
RegularComper90 yep, you have to be a dedicated comper, but you have to have a life too!
RegularComper90 you are right - and some of those have multiple pages so its not unusual for one competition to have up to 110 ways to enter! Thats why I never have more than 3 on the go at any one time. Certainly avoid the hourly ones too
