Terry's Chocolate Orange - I Don't Get the Hype
Ask a Question
I tried it recently, and the packaging looks similar to a real orange, but I don't see the big deal. It's just chocolate that tastes like orange.
So, why does it get praised so much?
We all have different tastes. Terrys Chocolate Orange isn’t one I enjoy so you’re not the only one.
Although Dawn French made the advert funny by saying 'it's not Terry's, it's mine' I think this is one of the few chocolate options that really is for sharing. I like the chocolate but only a couple of 'pasties' worth. It is a matter of taste - I don't enjoy white chocolate but would happily nibble my way through a vast number of mint Matchmakers.
I really like the dark chocolate one....just like the taste, but also when it is on sale it is good value for money.
Love chocolate orange especially milk chocolate one only trouble is hard to stop eating just a few segments at a time and they're good value as usually £1
I have the same problem, as I can easily eat the whole thing in less than 10 minutes if I'm not careful. I like mine with a cup of tea
I love a chocolate orange. Weirdly i prefer the bars you get from the pound shop over the actual orange x
I love terry chocolate as I seen your question bit late really wants to eat terry chocolate orange slices
It's the brand name that makes it appealing to customers and good marketing strategies.
Whilst I do like it, I do certainly think it's overrated. There are many supermarket own branded orange chocolates which are just as nice if not nicer. The Aldi orange chocolate is better in my opinion.
The Terry's chocolate orange is way too overpriced for what it is as well as getting smaller and smaller in size.
I love terrys chocolate orange i wont pay more than £1 for them though so always buy a few when their on offer. I also make a cracking terrys choc orange cheesecake - doesnt last long though
Oh my KirsteyJames I'm with you I love Terry's Choc Oranges. Can we post recipes on here? I would love your cheesecake one, I bet its gorgeous

200g icing sugar
300ml double cream

KirsteyJames aw, thank you so much for taking the time to do that. I can't wait to make it. X
I think it's a lot of good chocolate for a pound. It's slows me down having to break it apart. The main reason I buy is tradition, everybody in my family expects one in their Christmas stocking, especially if it has a knitted cosy on it.
I personally don’t like them that much but would eat it if there was no other chocolate available lol! A lad I used to work with bought a palette full to send back to where he used to live in Australia as they sell for roughly 10 dollars per orange, he only paid 75p per chocolate lol.
its nothing great however the white chocolate one is a whole new level lol.
i do like smacking it to break it to lol
Ooooh chocolate orange is my go to snack love it although I have one slice then can’t stop haha
