Tesco Direct is Nearing Its End

News

On July 9, Tesco Direct will no longer be available to shop from.

You could say that part of the blame could be applied to the incompetent employees in charge who mis-priced items and now this is the outcome.

It seems it's more of a re-structuring than a complete shut down. Tesco Direct will be merging many of its products for sale onto the main Tesco website, rather than have two separate sites.

I'm quite glad of it. It means they will be selling more none food items that I can get delivered with my groceries rather than having to go to another site.

No expiry date? Yikes. If they were in America they'd get sued so much.

Rockman Sued? That's very unlikely. Except for infant formula, product dating is not required by Federal regulations in the USA, it's a voluntary thing.

It's ridiculous how much food goes to waste because consumers think it's off when actually it's totally fine to eat.

In Australia throwing out foods which are not off is contributing to the one in five shopping bag's worth of food Australians throw out every week. There's an interesting article on this here:

Johnny People in US sue companies and people themselves for the most oddest things. Just for example, parents recently sued their own son to get him out of their house. It is their own house but sueing him seemed kind of excessive (in their defense, he refused to leave the house).

Some parents want their sons and daughters with 'em, some don't.

Rockman Yep

but they'd be very foolish to try suing about non required food product dating unless they want to go bankrupt!

Staff are constantly watching for this sort of thing. If a mystery shopper finds rotting produce, that department will be in a lot of trouble. Fresh produce is being continually put out throughout the day and checked.

Tesco Direct is closing on July 9th and as what's happening is that Tesco is moving their merch to the normal part of the website (Tesco Groceries).

https://www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/

'fore I forget, there's a £4 standard shipping fee for orders under £40.

The UK will be closing down by 2050!

Oooh better watch the politically correct police and grammar police might be around!

Check the thread on cop watch - you ever seen anything so ridiculous wanting to watch out for bad coppers instead of organisaing a watch for bad criminals - these libtards will one day be hoisted by their own petards when there are no police left who can do the job properly or want to - I know i chucked it after the political correctness got too mad, working in London as a copper is hell on earth let me tell you and idiots like this want to make it even tougher - they should spend a day out on the beat they would change their tune within an hour!

garygemmell someday there'll be a new dictionary that includes words that can only be said and written.

Political Correctness is ruining comedy, the way people talk, think and live. Things that mocked PC were funny but now it's just sad, it's the reality in Western countries.

On Tesco Direct some of the things were sold by not Tesco. I got this answer, when I wanted to order something, which suppose to be on sale and they wrote to me, that the same item listed by other sellers and they can not give me discount.
