Tesco to Scrap the Fresh Food Counters.

News

Just been reading Tesco bosses look set to axe the fresh food counters. Fish counter, butches meat counter and the deil counter with lose of thousands of jobs. What a shock. People will stay away. What a start to the new year for them. What do you make of it all. πŸ“πŸ‰πŸ—πŸ₯•πŸ₯“

Welcome to the world of savage capitalism. Tesco's shareholders and investors need to see an ever-increasing profit, and for that it is necessary to cut costs, no matter the social cost of it.

Coming from someone who doesn't know that much about business, I do sort of see where they're coming from. At my local Tesco's, along with another on one of my routes home, I rarely see anyone at deli or fish counters. Personally, I think its a shame they might get rid of the deli counter, some of the food from it is amazing! Not like on the shelf.

If Tesco are scrapping their FRESH food counters... perhaps they're just covering their backs lest trading standards object to the word.πŸ˜€

I loooove the deli counter!! I used to work right opposite a Tesco and most of my lunches came straight from there! Seems a real shame to scrap all of them imo.

it is a shock to the customers and more to the staff,I find it cheaper and nicer than Sainsburys

There's already no butcher shop where I live so i do rely on those fresh food counters.

We always look on these counters when we go in. It obviously isn't making enough money to be profitable or they need to make cut backs and they are the most obvious place to make the savings.
