Tesco Sneakily Reduces Size of Ready Meals but Keeps Price the Same
In the News
as I've seen a few times people saying things are getting smaller but the price stay the same it's about time these shops get called out for it metro.co.uk/2022/08/03/tesco-quietly-slims-ready-meals-down-but-customers-wont-pay-any-less-17122987/

Old, old, old news. Almost every product has shrunk in size and the price remain the same.

Poundland did the same with pavement chalk. Shrinkflation is certainly becoming popular.

Nothing new, its been going on for years - just happening a bit more now as inflation is going out of control. Some products can reduce their sizes a bit, other prefer to increase prices. either way most goods are becoming more expensive, and will continue to so for a while yet.

Ah, Tesco where they'll want you to use biometrics in 2023 and disguised their store card as "discounted" prices when in actuality it's just the normal price.
This supermarket has become shameful and a disgrace.

It has been happening for years unfortunately. Companies either reduce the size and keep the price the same or they increase the price or sometimes they do both.

It wont be long before they will be selling this size ,do you think anyone will notice lol ?

There's nothing sneaky about it, it's been happening for a long time now and will no doubt continue, I'd keep an eye on said product as it's almost inevitable the the price will also increase soon.

Some people seem to always focus on stories against Tesco's but I don't think I've seen any food shop that hasn't had shrinkflation products and if they don't have shrinkflation products the price goes up instead. We are heading towards 15% inflation and sterling value I think has dropped vs other major currencies. There is no way shops can maintain prices or alternatively the same pack sizes really.
I go into Tesco's and some products are great value and great quality and others aren't. My main issue with Tesco's is their reduction in their value ranges and so don't shop there as much but I still find some great value products there. Yeovil has a huge Tesco store and the range is fantastic but they are giving less and less space to value ranges. I still feel Tesco is far better value than Sainsburys and Morrisons and incredibly cheap compared to Waitrose. I find I have favourite items at all the supermarkets pretty much.
