Thank You for the Thanks
Latest Deals
Notice that very few people use the thanks button on Competitions posts, just counted and around 20 people are kind enough to press the thanks button, out of 450 plus who decided to enter...you are a special lot and once more ... thanks!
Most of those 450+ are probably not LD members, as you can enter the comps without being a member. You just can't comment.
But I do agree with what you are saying though. A simple thank you goes a long way and it doesn't hurt to be polite.
I have often pondered this myself and cam to the same conclusion as RegularComper90 in that many or most entrants don't actually even log on/in to LD they just enter them and move on to the next comp.
It's nice when people leave a comment on the comps I share, and I always try to like all of the comments to show I appreciate it. But I don't really mind if people don't want to comment. People aren't always comfortable interacting with other members on sites like this, they prefer to just view the comps/deals/vouchers, etc and leave it at that.
I don't mind this too much. I always try to Like all the messages left on my competition posts. If everyone who entered hit the Thanks button it would take a long time to do that. Most comps are getting at least 100 entries, but sometimes they go well over 1,000... Although, I find it a bit strange that someone leaving a longer comment can get twice as many points (and potentially an additional 20 points for 3 likes) as the person who posted the competition.
I feel it's a very small way of showing appreciation.
Some of these competition probably take a bit of work to post, especially ones with multiple answers like the Chat and Take a Break ones.
I don't enter the competitions, but I normally if I select a deal and I am going to buy the item I normally say Thank you as I like it when people are kind enough to say something about the deals I post
I always think the same Sarahvwomble! I appreciate the effort that people make to post and provide answers. I didn’t realise you could enter competitions without being a member.
