What Things Did You Start to Do during the Pandemic & Will Continue to Do?

Ask a Question

I'm interested in new habits/changes that you've made in your life that you had started because of the pandemic and that you'll carry on doing moving forward.

For example, I haven't had the common cold in a whole year! Usually I have maybe six, three that are really bad during the winter. I think because I've been taking extra precautions to not get the virus, I've also protected myself from other things.

So, moving forward, I'm going to wear masks in busy places (I really don't mind doing so. It doesn't effect me negatively. Though I fully understand why some people might not). I'm also going to continue to wash my hands regularly (something that seems so little yet, I wasn't doing it enough previously) and continue to physically distance myself from others when I can.

Remember to be kind to one another - not asking for a debate, but an interesting discussion on how our lives have changed.

I think it is wise for us all to continue with these measures although I personally would not continue with a mask outside, especially when wearing sunglasses, they steam up and I can't see a thing lol.

I can't think of anything else I have particularly started and will continue.

I will definitely continue with social distancing for a long time, whether it's a requirement or not. I'll continue washing my hands more regularly too.

I think being aware of unnecessary spending, and instead using it for things we really want, or for treats thst we enjoy, instead of buying for the sake of it.

Can't remember much I've been doing differently other than wear a mask in establishments as they require.

I try to avoid hand sanitizers and rather clean my hands properly if I need. Sanitizers leave my hands feeling "odd." Not allergic exactly, but sort of.

Washing hands definitely feels better than sanitiser.

I’ve been doing all my supermarket shopping online and will continue doing so even with the delivery cost it’s worth it.

Supermarket shopping online is great. Most of the time, my delivery has only been about £1.50 which is definitely worth it!

SweetCinnamon wow that’s a good price. I usually pay £3.50 to £5 depending on delivery time.

I believe a lot of people will still continue to wear a face mask in public if/when we get beyond COVID-19. They have been a common sight in parts of Asia for years, but now that people in the UK have got used to wearing them they may become ubiquitous on our streets as well 😷

Agreed. I like how mask wearing in western countries is normalised since COVID. I think for the rest of my life I'd wear a mask whenever I get a cold to avoid someone else from getting it.

I have always wanted a certain amount of space around me and worried when anyone 'invaded' my personal space. Covid has meant that in theory I am now allowed this space, but sadly it doesn't always work. I'd like spacing to stay.

We have always been good hand washers but now disinfect the wheelie bins before touching them and bringing them back up near the house (our bin men didn't empty them for a while as they had covid!). It is actually amazing how many things we touch during even one day, we all need to be careful and keep washing, washing, washing.

Certainly. Personal space is so important and is also different for everyone. As you say, it's not always as easy to protect your space though.

I would like to say social distancing would continue to happen but sadly too many people have already forgotten about it

I like my personal space anyway, so social distancing is something I will certainly continue doing.

I am going to continue washing my hands every so often as well as bring hand gel with me whenever I go out, even after I have been fully inoculated. The main reason for this is because it has become a habit, albeit a good one. You also don't know who or what has been touching certain surfaces which is kind of gross. You get people who don't wash their hands after having a crap and then touching public surfaces. 🤢
