Do You Think People over Share ?
Ask a Question
Recently there have been a number of stories, I won't call them news because they aren't, where people are talking about things that I would find embarrassing. Most recently
Phil Schofield makes giggly Holly Willoughby revealed that she wears no knickers in bed. Who cares ?
Woman accidentally sends x-rated video to mum ...then tells the world how !

Am I bring a prude ? My son thinks I am
No you’re not prudish. I really can’t understand why some people opening share private thoughts and feelings, who cares? Why do the press publish this nonsense?
It's reassuringly to know that I am not the only one, I hate the reality shows like Geordie Shore, The Valleys which makes behaviour like getting drunk and being promiscuous is acceptable. I have never watched either of these shows, just adverts
beccatavender I live just up road from where the valleys were filmed and they not all like that. It’s done for pure entertainment and embarrassment to family
I thought it must be scripted, I hope they get paid enough that it would migrate the embarrassment of they kids seeing it @Ann1984
beccatavender only one that gone far since the valley was lytasha who had her own tv show others back to day job or only fans.
The other show they all pretty much millionaires now but look fake
Pjran because this stuff sales and they think people want to read it. Yawn lol
beccatavender I can’t stand those type of reality shows. Very easy way to get famous though. No talent. Never watched them.
It’s like the show they done in valleys called skint what pure embarrassment again not everyone like that. Some people do have manners and class
I like programmes like that, my husband calls it poverty ****. I did think at one time that there was an hidden agenda, as they seemed to demonize people on benefits saying things like " benefit mate" when the reality was the majority of people on benefits are just struggling to make ends meet.
beccatavender some do use just to top up wages I agree but I would say at least 40% abuse it too. Take the show benifit street as an example
I haven't seen that, I used to watch Benefits By The Sea: Jaywick and I was appalled at the housing conditions, but it become apparent that the majority of people had addiction problems Ann1984
Ann1984 they show the worst of the worst to make it all seem that people are bad. They aren’t. And I’m sure some of those people who are like that have issues. But some are just pure lazy.
It extends to social media some people are looking for constant attention and validation. As Chrissy Teigen, Billie Eilish, etc found out, constantly sharing can often backfire on you.
ACR it’s got worse with social media. People copy now. And some become famous very easy and it’s because of the way they look or act. And they can get a lot of money out of it. Younger people see it as a easy way out. It only works for a few. All this rubbish on social media for youngsters to see and copy. These role models these days aren’t so great. Just my opinion.
Sometimes I read the news and like you say it’s not news but total nonsense. Who cares about these stories, definitely not me and it does not make you a prude but just someone who appreciates good news.
When I watch celebrity versions of quizzes I rarely know who the ‘celebrities ‘ they have on are.
Grannyclock it’s today’s celebrities that have been found on social media. Most of them have little or no talent. Mind boggles me how they have become famous. However there are a few out there that are good social media stars.
No you are definitely not a prude. I am sick of living in a world where anything goes. No one has any shame, morals, humility or reticence when it comes to over sharing these days.
Recently a friend shared her intimate medical procedure with me. When I next saw our mutual gay friend (a man in his 50s) he confessed he hadn't liked her telling him about it in minute detail and I don't blame him. I didn't like it and I am female!
