Do You Think Schools and Colleges Will Be Open to All Students in September
Ask a Question
With schools and colleges being closed to most students, I’m concerned our children, especially the disadvantaged children are falling behind with their education. Disappointed with the way government has handled the whole situation. Let’s hope they get their act together and support schools and colleges to get all students back into education.
I dont think all schools and colleges will be open i know a friend of mine who went back to college last year and has been told that the first few weeks this September going back it will be online classes only.
chelseaturpin I have heard that, however what worries me is that some of our children / young people do not have access to a working laptop or internet so will be disadvantaged as not able to participate in online learning
mazza2112 my friend might not even be going back due to this she has struggled doing work these last few months due to having a slow laptop and crappy internet as her college has sent her online work
A lot of universities have announced that they will do inline learning for the first term at least, perhaps colleges will do the same.
mazza2112 yes I understand, for university students at least their student loan and grant should make sure they are able to afford this, students can also apply for a hardship fund if for instance they couldn't afford a laptop. Obviously this doesn't quite apply for school and college students.
My youngest hasn't got a start date yet for school. I don't know about my daughter she has to go into the college she wants to go after getting GCSE results
I think that reception and year one should not re open.
Those small kids can not social distance or wear a face mask.
I do not get it why they can not move education online...like that students could watch private school tutors too from other schools...and they could all stay safe...
The aim is to get them opened up as soon as possible, with September being the period where they expect all institutions to be up and running. We shall see
My daughter has been back at school since the start of June. I honestly think they need to get the children back to school sooner rather than later. Children need interaction with their peers. Being isolated and away from what they know (in a school setting) will only “damage” their mental health.
