What Do You Think about Social Media Comps with Really High Value Prizes?
Competitions
Lately I have seen a lot of social media comps for prizes such as ridiculously large TVs, and even one on Twitter for £1,000 cash in exchange for just a follow and retweet.
I am half and half about this. Whilst you've got nothing to lose, I can't help but ask myself whether all of these are genuine or not.
I do tend to be a little over cautious at times (as my driving instructor once told me), but are you really going to win a prize of a really high value in exchange for just a Facebook/Twitter/Instagram like or share?
I don't use social media so can't really give an opinion but if there is a closing date you could take note and follow up to see if a winner is announced. I guess these days it would be a big risk to run a fraudulent comp on social media as it would get out at some stage and there would be a lot of trouble. I hope I am not being too optimistic!
I’ve thought this before but how do you know with most competitions you enter? When you just hand over details and then the organisation says they’ll be in touch if you’re the winner? I assume that the attention & publicity generated from shares likes etc outweighs the price of a 50” tv or is worth more than £1000 And that’s why they keep doing them? I could be totally wrong though and could all be a scam
