Do You Think Summer is Over

Ask a Question

We had some great weather and now it is all cold and wet. Do you think that summer is over. Or will it come back?

Well as July and August are always the hottest months and as summer is June July and August we are only a third of the way through it!

I think the best is probably yet to come.

Although it's clear it's not going to be a summer like 2018, with wall to wall sun.

I'm sure it will change again soon and we will be on the receiving end of some gorgeous weather again 😎 .

It's just a typical topsy-turvy British summer. In May we had 'the sunniest month in the country since records began'. Last week there were 3 days over 30°C. In a couple of weeks it will probably be nice again. At least the temperature isn't too hot.

In Scotland it most definitely is. Pouring with rain now - yesterday was so cold, my partner has been harassing me to put the heating on.. it’s JULY! 🤦🏻‍♀️ every year seems to be the same up here 🙄

I quite like our erratic weather, keeps it interesting. Sometimes September is hotter than June on average and I remember a few years ago having a lovely beach day in early October. I'd say most of the Summer is still to come. I'm down in the south west though so second only to the south east I think for highest temperatures. I'm only 40 miles from Bournemouth.

I'm hoping it will be back. It rained a lot in June last year I remember.

I think people tend to expect a little too much from our climate and as a result keep ending up disappointed. We aren't a hot or cold country, but temperate. ⛅

I can say that I am very happy with the current temperature. My flat gets extremely hot when the outside temperature is over 24c and I need to use the air conditioner all the time.
