Plan out meals and portion sizes in advance, box them and freeze them? Use weighing scales and work out the cost of the meal based on the amount of ingredients used for that box? Use a spreadsheet to work out the cost of eating those meals in a week? Shopping apps like receipt snapping and cashback apps?

I always make a meal plan for the week ahead. I enjoy batch cooking which saves lots of money and makes the best of your freezer too! Thus, always having a tasty stash of food at your fingertips!!!

Also, consider buying your some of your foods online at discounted sites such as https://www.yankeebundles.com/product-category/food/. I save quite a tidy sum of money on museli recently, I got 5 boxes for £5. It saved £12.50 and the boxes were larger than my usual ones. It is also nice to try a new product.

Also, check out Amazon too. I have saved quite a lot of money buying certain foods. Plus, if you are a Prime member, as I am, you get free, speedy delivery too. I order all of my food online as I live in the countryside, so it's cheaper to have my food delivered.

Xx

I like doing pasta based dishes because they are usually cheaper - I always buy the cheapest pasta because I can’t taste a difference at all! 29p bag of pasta, 99p sausages, 33p box of passata, 99p diced onions and some seasoning.. enough pasta, onions and sausages to last a good few meals and a grand total of £2.60

I always buy a lot of veggies and plan ahead so I can use them in different recipes with pasta, rice, cous cous.

Bags of frozen pasta sauces and pestos...Saves the misery of scrapping out a forgotten jar of expensive furry sun-dried tomato pesto. 😭

Perhaps plan out meals, buy some foods in bulk if you can, substitute branded items for own-brand or cheaper brands
