Not yet, but I'm not back at work yet!

Maybe make some new plans and make sure some are easy to keep to, so you're not in the same position next year?

OneeyedRaven I don't know what your plans were, but there's no need to not still want to do those things. But if you plan other easier stuff too, and maybe have a list to cross things off, it'll look like you've done more (because you have) of what you wanted at the end of the year - it'll show your successes rather than a failure of an empty list of complete stuff.

It's just another month, it's nothing special, I'm sure we could say the same about any month it just seems more poignant because it's the start of a new calendar or diary. Each page of that diary needs a great story, like any book does, you're the author so fill it with things you enjoy and if it has plot twists along the way, so be it, all great books do.

Try starting a happiness jar, each day write down what has made you happy or what you've been grateful for and put it in the jar, then in 366 days time, read the notes back and you will see that the year hasn't been as 'meh' as you thought

I'm praying the wood we bought will last us, till the bad weather that is supposed to come, actually goes. Other than that, you have to bite the bullet and work through January don't you?

Try and make plans for the new year for January. And fill your days with family friends and things to do it keeps your mind of the last year.

I don't have a problem with January, probably because I like the winter and my son and I both have birthdays in January. I was about to suggest what Dilligaf said, it's something I intend to do this year. It doesn't have to be anything big, it can be simple things like noticing how good the sun felt on your face, etc. I have bipolar so when I feel a down coming on I will use the happiness jar as another tool to help and even when I'm in it to remind me I do feel differently sometimes as in the middle of a bad episode I can't remember anything even remotely good, everything is black. Good luck and I hope you have a specially good January this year 😊

All I can do is make plans and research prices for various things. Waiting for my new house to finish going through probate so I can move in. It is frustating living with family and all the many rules and silly early bedtimes, etc. 😏 I have so much decorating in the house and work to do in my fantastic new garden and I can't do a thing. I'm in limbo. I have started up exercising again just before christmas so I can do that and get back into a routine for exercise like I had for over 20 years, so that's good.

Chin up ShellyAnn we sound in similar situations except I have had to cancel a move as I will no longer be in paid work and nothing in the pot to decorate but yes I too have started exercising a few months back to help keep the endorphins up! you will be pottering in your new garden before you know it- enjoy 🌺
