Ask a Question

Any tips? I am not overweight I just want to decrease the amount of times I eat during the day. I am trying to drink more water atm.

I can stop snacks but my meals are getting bigger and bigger! If you suck mints or clean your teeth the strong mint flavour makes it a waste of time eating.....

My friend keeps a bottle of water in her kitchen and sips it when she’s tempted to have a biscuit. Although it works for her I haven’t the will power and know when I make a pot of tea it’s time to nibble. I do stop at just one biscuit though.

Are you snacking out of boredom? If so, then you just need to replace your behaviour - instead of reaching for food, do something, like exercise

hspexy I think it is a mixture of boredom and stressed also having too many sweets at home it doesn't help

Try chewing on a cardamon pod, it stops the cravings. You can also try chewing on a small piece of cinnamon stick if you don't prefer the cardamon pod. Others i have seen chew on fennel seeds. Depends which one works for you.

Beetroot. Pickles. Gerkins. Eggs. And fruit are all good and healthy snacks tho. So if you did fancy....

But would say bigger dinners yes. Breakfast lunch dinner.

Chewing gum helped me ☺ I often snack when I'm bored now I pop a gum and I'm good

This may sound silly, but cleaning my teeth stops me snacking, but I usually eat in the evening in front of the telly😀

Or why not change your snacks to fruit, that why you can easily get you 5 a day

This is my problem also, but I do enjoy snacking. Especially crisps. However I did loose weight last year and I cut back on my meals so I could snack 🙈 maybe not as much and I still lost over 2 stone x

You can consume more water by drinking tea. And since it’s winter, its the perfect season to start.

Drinking more water helps. I tend to snack more when i am feeling hungry so maybe eat bigger portions so you are not as hungry.

It's true drinking plenty of water can help reduce snacking. Our bodies can often mistake what is actually thirst as hunger...hence the craving to snack. I have always found chewing minty gum eases cravings to snack as well.

I snack on frozen fruit from aldi. It’s cheap, healthy and gives you the sugar cravings x
