TM Lewin to Shut All 66 Stores

I feel sorry for the 600 staff who will lose their jobs. Sadly, I think many more companies will disappear from the high street in the next twelve months. City centres were failing before the pandemic as so many people now shop online. The lock down compounded the situation.

Unfortunately they’re not the kind of shop that gets a lot of footfall, so it’s bound to happen. They were staples in the city as lots of city workers would pop in to get work shirts, but now office working may also be a thing of the past

Sad to hear, and I am sure there will be others to follow, like Charles Tyrwhitt, who also specialise in shirts

Oh dear, more unemployment. Let’s hope they retrain some of their existing staff to help run the online business.

They had some good shirts, some thought were almost impossible to iron.
