Tonight Announcement

Ask a Question

Do you think there is anything boris can say tonight people wont complain about. I can count on my fingers the people I've spoken to today and they all know what should be done and it's all different

I don't think it really matters what rules they introduce, when there are so many people who simply aren't following them. Obviously the virus continues to spread because of this, but then people try to blame Boris....like if he'd done something differently, the virus would be gone by now. People are the problem here- the lockdowns, Tiers, etc may have worked if everyone actually stuck to the rules and did what they were supposed to do.

It is annoying when people spread their germs! A lady who has visited our work a few times recently refuses to wear a mask and thinks it is all a conspiracy and that the vaccine injects micro chips.. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Our boss has advised even if the government announces another national lockdown then we are expected in work as normal tomorrow!

Then I think you should whistleblow, or failing that just stay home. Can you imagine if he tried to sack you? A tribunal would be firmly on your side especially if your working conditions are not covid safe.

Lynibis lol yes I don’t think that would go down to well. We remain open but I have actually been put on furlough now, which in a way I am glad as I will be at less risk from the virus but obviously the less pay is the down side. At the moment health is more important!

AliceBell64468 if you read the topic on saving money during lockdown there is really no reason why 80% pay during covid should not work out same as 100% in non covid. People aren't spending on socialising, eating out, drinking etc and there is no need to buy takeaways and lots of other things we mistakenly think we NEED.

Lynibis I was just having a nose through that topic! I know what you mean, although pre covid/lockdown I didn’t really spend money on socialising, eating and drinking out, even not getting my hair done out. I will save a small amount on fuel, not a huge amount as its only a 15 mile round trip. Other than that things aren’t much different, just less money lol 😌

AliceBell64468 yep I guess if you are a frugal person anyway, as you and I obviously are, it would be hard to save any more.

I think people complain because of all the last minute decisions and u-turns. Why let kids go back to school for the one day and THEN close them? He could have announced the school closures before schools went back. Yesterday he was encouraging parents to send their kids to school, now he is saying differently. Whilst I have no kids of my own, I do feel really sorry for parents and kids at the moment.

8am Sunday " Have no doubt schools are safe and you should send your kids to school. 8pm Monday "All schools to close. Its confusing and conflicting. Yet people still think he is handling this well. Mind boggling

I have been living life as if lockdown never ended. I go out once a week for the food shop and that's it! My husband is now at home till February due to the school closures, but will be working from home. I expected anther lockdown so I'm not surprised, apart from my husband now being at home, nothing will change for me.

To be honest while he was talking I just keep thinking of all the mistakes he's made but if it is a true lockdown like the March 1 . But if it is the November 1 then that was no more a lockdown than I am a supermodel.
