Town in Kent Switches on Christmas Lights
In the News
Todays good news story is about a town in Kent which has switched its Christmas lights on to help raise people's spirits https://metro.co.uk/2021/02/09/town-switches-christmas-lights-on-in-february-to-lift-spirits-14047878/
I just thought it looked cheery and made me . Everything is so grim, with such short days and lockdown.
Not got to second birthday yet don't want to think about Christmas although my sons are already asking for things they prefer Christmas to birthday
This is a first among me LIKE EVER, my parents ( especially my dad ) leave the Christmas decorations up as long as possible, but Christmas decorations up in February just seems wrong at least in my opinion.
Sorry if I offend you
I agree with you, a few years ago, when we were house hunting, one of the reasons we decided against a particular street was due to one of the neighbour still having their Christmas decorations up in late Jan - Reading this, makes it sound snobby.
If the lights were Christmas themed I wouldn't have been so positive, but as
they just seem to be lights, they just seem picturesque. If the news story hadn't classed them as Christmas I wouldn't have made the connection.
Quite right. I think this is a great idea. Especially with the snowy weather. Itβs so doom and gloom at the moment so why not try and cheer people up if you can x
