Trains Cancelled Due to Large Tortoise on Rail Tracks

In the News

I thought i had heard every reason for train delays, ice, snow, leaves, heavy rain, but this is a new one for me, a giant tortoise on the railway tracks !!

How it managed to crawl over the tracks is a mystery, they are quite high, but more to the point didn't anyone think to just pick it up and put it into a siding away from the tracks to let the trains continue ? DUH

I am sure it would have survived until an rspca rescuer arrived

The other reason it could have been on the tracks is to try to beat the train back to the station

Not too difficult to do with our rail network

MelissaLee1963 When I saw that picture it reminded me for some reason of an oversized frog.

He needs some laxatives. 😆

Heartwarming piece of train travel news rather than their constant strikes.
