How Do You Travel to Airport?

Ask a Question

Looking into different options for travelling to the airport for 4 people. We could drive and pay for parking, get a coach/bus, or get a taxi. What do you usually do and why?

Depends what time the flight is. Early morning flight - taxi

Any time after about 10am - train or tube

Sometimes drive and use airport parking if we are going short haul flights with minimal jet lag.

Can get good deals for parking if booked early enough and with cashback site.

I would drive normally but this time my flight is at 6am so I'm not keen on driving really tired think I might get a cab - that's only because we're relatively close. If your a long way I'd stay at an airport hotel then often includes parking in the rate.

Depending on the airport, it’s the tube or the train, or a combination of both. I can miss out zone one so it’s cheap for me

SaverDeals you’re welcome. Just a tip - if you’re using the TfL website, ignore their journey planner - it’s automatically set to charge you the most for a journey. Instead go to the TfL search engine and type on ‘single fare finder’ to pop in the start and end stations, and that will give you the pink reader journey options to avoid zone one

We can use the taxi for the Family travel ( 4 or more) to reach the airport on time and it will be helpful to get the leisure travel without any hurry👍

I would get a taxi for a very early flight. Otherwise tube, Heathrow Express, Gatwick Express and other train services. I try to avoid catching a bus to/from the airport in the UK, but will in other countries as your only options may be coach or taxi.

Taxi probably the most straightforward if prices are reasonable, otherwise may drive assuming all the luggage fits in, the car.
