Have You Tried Tumble Dryer Balls?
Ask a Question
Has anyone uses tumble dryer balls? Do they work in reducing the time? My 11 year old dryer is starting to take a very long time to fully dry things. Wasn't sure if they work, or more of a gimic?
If so, should I go for the rubber or wool ones?
Thanks!
Tin foil?! Never even knew this was an option. Just saw the spiky rubber ones and the wool ones.
FG280 As clothes tumble around and rub against one another in the dryer, they exchange electrons. ... Throwing a few balls of aluminum in the dryer will fight this. The foil balls both discharge any static buildup that the clothes may experience and help keep the clothes separated, which should speed up the drying process.
I just use the plastic ones or clean tennis balls for drying feather down items as they help fluff them back up
I have used tennis balls in the past for my down gilet. Will never forget how it looked when i first washed it ... complete panic that I had ruined it
I’ve been using the spiky balls for years to stop clothes tangling up. Not sure if they save money but worth using.
Thank you! Think I will give them a try, see if they speed up the drying time. It is definitely taking longer now that the machine is getting older
I use them, not sure if they cut down on the time it takes to dry clothes but they do cut down on the static and clothes seem softer. I use the wool ones
Thank you! Think I'm definitely going to try them. Spied them today in home bargains for cheap. Nothing to lose
Worth a go, FG280, if they are a good price. Just be aware I found that they make quite a bit of noise so may not be very good for using late evening.
Imnotcheap I have that problem too. They disappear for a time then suddenly appear again. And they get stuck in sleeves. They certainly make towels more fluffy.
