Twixmas?

Apparently it means the period in between Christmas and New Year - I didn't know that, so I was very confused when someone said ‘Twixmas’ earlier today...I initially thought that Twix was doing a promotion this week 
Do you ever refer to this weird as ‘Twixmas’?
I think it is a modern affectation of finding a new word to describe something that really doesn't need describing or new words adding to it. I would think it was to do with Twix too had I not known that Betwixt means between in older English language.
I hadn't heard this period referred to as Twixmas before. Mars, Inc are missing a trick by not doing some kind of related Twix chocolate promotion...
I did celebrate Pocky Day on the 11th of november by eating Pocky. I'll try to buy a Twix later to celebrate Twixmas. There should be more chocolate related celebration days
