Not quite an answer to your query but.........one time I dashed across the road thinking I had plenty of time as a bus was bearing down upon me..............and yes, you guessed, I tripped and nearly fell. Not only did it give me a terrible fright but must have upset the driver too, so have never run for anything since unless it is off road.

oh no, that certainly was a lesson learned. I often rush but I do know that in the back of my mind, it won't hurt to wait a few minutes for the next one, but the impulse to get the one is see is always there. Thankfully, I have not had any major accidents, but I had a friend who ran for her train and she tripped and landed on the raised flooring, which in turn caused damage to her knees - they didn't think she could walk again (but she can, and she will not be doing that ever again)

I was brought up to be early for everything, i.e. being on time is as bad as being late, so this scenario very rarely happens, even rarer is running!!!

lol I know what you mean. I often head to the station earlier than the time scheduled for the train, but the trains are always late, so when I see the early one pulling in, I dash for it, even though I know the one I was intending to get is just a couple of minutes behind. I just hate missing opportunities!

This is a handy tip I've passed on to many - if running for a bus that is coming towards you DON'T RUN ON THE Pavement. Instead run in the road towards the bus. most drivers would rather wait a few seconds than have to fill out lengthy accident report forms.

Always be polite and say "thanks for waiting for me" when you get on the bus. (Drivers really appreciate this - they nearly always smile).

Warning: DO NOT DO THIS with trains. (that rail in the middle is not for pedestrians).

lol I already do that with buses, whenever I can. I will try not to do it with the trains, although the urge to hail them usually pops up whenever the train approaches the platform - not sure why though ;-)

Absolutely love it 😂I always run, I'm always slightly to late but I have never tried that!! It's on my must do list from now.

Depends on how long I would need to wait for the next one or if I've bought a nonrefundable ticket for a set departure time.

I know what you mean - I hate waiting for anything, and Sod's law is when you miss one, the next one is very, very late...and this will happen on a dark, cold and wet day
