“They are the ninth biggest winner in UK National Lottery history and the fourth this year

I know the lottery organisers want the publicity, but i dont think i would go public if i won

Imagine the constant fear of you or someone in the family being threatened or kidnapped by criminals and being held to ransom, thats besides the thousands of begging letters and the press

I think this is the downfall of some winners, besides the pressure it can bring if you dont use it wisely

Otherwise its a great gift

Nice someone is lucky enough to be finically secure for the rest of their life, something we can only dream about. No way I would go public. Far too many nutters would want you have and the begging letters no thanks! Too be honest it’s probably better for the persons mental health to not go public.

As you say S, it can also be bad for your mental health to have to worry about this, even if you dont go public, but hiding the fact you have won this much must be an enormous pressure, especially if you choose to not tell your family , keeping this from them would be difficult, especially if you want to share your good fortune with them

Not easy to give them something without suspicions arising , and then you have the worry the family member or members might let it slip to outsiders

It can be a minefield i imagine , but for some risking the explosion is worth it

telmel I would tell some family and friends you would have too as you couldn’t keep it secret as much as hard you tried. People would find out which is something you would have to deal with but I wouldn’t want to plaster myself over social media and news outlets if you went public.

SilverSurfer I know S, but if you have a large family it only takes one brother or sister in law, for example, that is not so connected with you so much to spill the beans, as a way of making money or if they dont like you , there is always that fear

Then the press would be over you like a rash to let the secret out and get the story in their paper first
