I'll go with The Assignment (1997), Cloud Atlas, Dune (1984), Oblivion and Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets.

Legends of the Fall. Sweeping epic over generations of a family starring Brad Pitt, Anthony Hopkins, Aidan Quinn etc. Slow burn (with action) telling a deep story. Can't believe it was not an Oscar winner.
