United Airlines Passenger Banned after Urinating on Other Flyer during Flight

In the News

We all know about the reputation of low cost airlines here in the UK and have heard many horror stories about drunken behaviour etc over the years

But this story tops anything i have heard here in the UK, in fact its' unbelievable

This poor passenger woke up to find another passenger urinating on him

Not just a little but being soaked from the chest to his feet

And this was in business class and not standard

There was no explanation for it , the toilets were close and he did not know the assailant

So what did United Airlines do about it , they told him to stay away from the man as he could turn violent !!

So he was not arrested or restrained and the victim had to spend the rest of 15 hour flight in urine soaked clothing

Oh, and the punishment was the assailant was banned from all United Airline flights !

Only in America !!

Unbelievable behaviour from both the passenger and the airline staff. Fingers crossed the victim will sue and win.

I thought all American flights had air marshalls, but maybe only in films, if true he should have handcuffed the guy to a seat and had officials meet the flight. Surely that counts as assault.

Lynibis My thoughts too L, it is a physical assault as well as a biohazard, worse than someone coughing on you with covid , who knows what the assailant had wrong with him , he could be carrying any disease

And to leave the passenger soaked for the rest of the flight is unbelievable

telmel especially being 1st class you would think they could have found something for him to wear. Dreadful, hope he sues.

Lynibis Yes that surprised me more L , you would have thought people got better treatment in first class, i dread to think what standard class is like after this, one airline i would never fly with

Grim. People are revolting. Not surprised. Working with people you realise how vile humans can be. Honestly just cos someone's in business class doesn't mean they have standards

That is disgusting but i don’t see what more the airline could have done. I wouldn’t expect the air stewards to tackle the man and that could have led to further issues. Leaving the victim in urine stained clothes was very bad though

jms19 They should have zip tied him to his seat and put him in a nappy until they landed J

How did the rest of the passengers or crew know what he would do next , he might have targetted someone else

telmel It sounds to me like they assessed the situation and decided that trying to detain him would cause more problems. If it was a large man it would be very difficult to stop them so sometimes leaving them be is the best course of action.

jms19 Personally i wouldn't of trusted the crew to make this decision , if he was crazy enough to do what he did , what next, forcing open the exit door or assaulting a passenger ? , you would just not take the chance and i am sure amongst a plane full of passengers one or two could have assisted the crew

But saying that i suppose you needed to have been there to make a decision

No doubt he'll just use another airline and piddle on someone else.Won't always go so sweetly though I am sure!

I couldn't even imagine how that person felt having had that done to them. There should have been more that could have been done to protect him and others on the flight.
