Unusual Jewelry
Ask a Question
I seen jewelry made with loved ones ashes. Jewelry made with teeth!!! The beads and pendants made from breastmilk... or the ones with baby's first hair lock...do you own any of unusual jewelry?? I wouldn't get the ones with teeth but I think its sweet memento to have.. I'm tempted to get breastmilk pendant but they are not cheap...
If it is a pendant from another woman's breast milk other than myself then I would give it a miss. And if I wore jewellery made from a loved ones ashes I would feel like they would haunt me and look down at me thinking 'what on earth'
Moonstone22 oh no for breastmilk jewellery you send off a tiny bit of your breastmilk and they turn it into bead...I'm guessing with acrylic powder...it looks like moon stone a little. As for the ashes... I dont know...i suppose to some people it helps feeling that they still "here"...I believe in reincarnation anyway
BlueOrchid I think the breastmilk jewellery does sound like a good idea. I believe in reincarnation too. If it brings people comfort it does sound like a good idea for them to do
I like the idea of making a piece of jewellery from a loved ones ashes. Can you imagine if you lost it though
gerrykelly25 I suppose it depends how deep your bond was with the person... but really because its different and made to order I think it would soon be found with power of fb I seen an article that a guy lost his wedding ring 10y ago while gardening...and then he found it...on a carrot top what are the chances???
BlueOrchid my daughter said she’s going to make a ring out of my ashes! She’ll have a problem if I’m buried
Lovely surprise for the gardener!
i have a ring with my grandads ashes and i wouldnt be without it. feel he's always watching over me and making me safe. i also always rub it when im extremely anxious- it is really comforting for me. but each to their own
lcook90 it is beautiful idea. And it gives you comfort. And that's all that matters. In a way it's like your own amulet or lucky charm really. And I'm sure he's got a smile watching over you❤ I had deep connection to my own grandma and after she died many years ago my mental pain transformed into unexplained excruciating back pains...maybe that would of helped me to cope with it too...
BlueOrchid I definitely would not be without mine. I've not taken it off since I bought it
My Mum died earlier this year and both my Sisters and my nieces took some of her ashes to make into jewellery. It was my sister's 50th Birthday and she was given a pendant with my Mothers ashes but is too frighten to wear it encase it breaks and she losses it as she would be heart broken. I personally I didn't as I felt it was a little macabre, I would rather have a locket with my Mums picture in it. But each to their own.
Not really , I have thought about the ashes thing....all mine is gems or plastic or silver...I do like amber as it's fossil of tree resin from the start of time, and I have a few bits of that...
Hair jewelry made after a loved one died was really big in Victorian times ,not sure about that....
Sarahvwomble they can do your babys first hair lock. I think it's nice to use it this way rather than just gather the dust...
