Do You Use Makeup?

Ask a Question

I have never used makeup and want to learn how.

I have been buying lots of makeup and now it's time to start using them. I need to get myself new brushes which will hopefully arrive soon.

Can anyone give me advice on makeup?

It could be about anything.

Has anyone used a pressed glitter eyeshadow palette?

I used to wear make up, but not any more. Get make up that suits your skin tone, use the correct brushes for each product, blend your make up, use a primer (this can be a moisturiser, doesn't need to be an actual primer product) as it gives you a good base. If using eyebrow make up do your eyebrows first.

Have a look on YouTube for make up tutorials.

Justshopping I used to love my make up but just don't have the time now, plus I have other things to spend my money on now.

You could always try going to one of the make up counters to get a tutorial.

Leannexxx Really? I don't really care of what others think of my appearance. Sometimes I want to look good for myself. Thank you for the suggestion of the neck and ears.

I hardly ever wear it as it plays havoc with my eyes. If I do it is only eyebrow pencil (my eyebrows have disappeared), mascara and occasionally some eye pencil. I do not wear foundation at all, don't believe in clogging up my skin.

Anyway, I am afraid I wouldn't dare to offer make up advice as each to their own, but there will be many, many tutorials and advice on YouTube.

Lynibis When I put eyeshadow on I get really sleepy and it feels really heavy. I want to get used to makeup. I am getting married soon and im afraid that I might ruin my makeup.

If you wanna learn from the best people you should watch Nikki Tutorials on youtube. Shes from the Netherlands but does her videos in English. Also look at Kim Kardashians makeup artist I think he has YouTube and hes called Mario (not sure what his last name is).

Your best learning from the experts, book in with one of the sales staff on the beauty counters in Boots or a department store. Obviously they hope you’ll buy their products but you might come away with lots of free samples.

Pjran Do they give free samples? Wow that's great. I didn't know they did that. That's brilliant and its quite nice that I can ask them in person. Thank you for the lovely suggestion.

Like with anything, practice makes perfect. I wear make up all the time. It takes me hardly any time now.

If wearing foundation I'd suggest finding out your skin undertones & finding a good shade....nothing worse than orange face. Most beauty counters can do a shade match now.

In regards to pressed glitter. I have a couple but tbh I hate the stuff. No matter how hard try you will get alot of fallout & it can get everywhere. I much prefer using eye shimmers. If you do decide to use pressed glitter than get a good glitter glue to help avoid fallout but make sure it's ok to use on eyes.

Nyx do a good eye glitter glue for around £5 I think.

kimcress I heard of that brand before but haven't used any of their products before. I have used rimmel makeup as I was gifted those.

Justshopping I’ve tried many over the years, I have an oily T zone and find the infinity powder stays all day.

It’s a bit more expensive than rimmel but not by a lot (couple of pound).

Definitely use YouTube. There are lots of makeup artist and others who are just amazing at makeup on there. You can follow anyone for tips but I personally find it’s helpful to follow people who have a similar skin tone/hair colour/face shape as you to get an idea of colours and techniques that would more likely also look good on you

A bit off the mark here maybe and I am a Male.

But here goes... Everyone has their own unique beauty, that does not need any highlighting. I love to see my family and friends in their natural day to day look. That to me is 'true beauty'

davey184 That is a really sweet thing to say. Im not obviously going to go over board with the makeup and wear it daily because that's something that I can't do. I just want to put a little effort for the guy that I like. 🙂 But thank you!

I used lots of make up before but now love my natural beauty .I am almost not using make up.Using only mascara sometimes usually if I am going out ,lip gloss everyday ,once or twice in a week going sunbeds.

I would advice to find a make up course for yourself to learn how to do make up properly.
