Do You Use a Water Butt to Conserve Water?
Other
It’s mainly the summer where there are concerns of drought, but I guess saving water is saving water
do you have a water butt? and do you recommend any?
not only is it good for the environment, the collected water can save you money as you can use it to water your plants, lawn, rinse whatever you need rinsing. I spent about £25 for my one and it has lasted a long time
thanks for the feedback - that's what I am hoping to use it for, as I hate the idea of wasting water, especially during the summer when the government tries to impose the hosepipe ban
yes we have a water butt which helps, unfortunately it’s not big enough so I would recommend buying a couple to connect up while installing. I’ve also tried not to plant so many pots and have added the water retaining crystals when planting the summer bedding.
thanks for the feedback - I will definitely look to getting something on the larger side of things to get more use out of it
I recently had a new conservatory built and, rightly or wrongly, was told that all new outbuildings have to have a water butt. I am not complaining though as I wanted one and it only cost £20 from Lidl.
Hi hspexy I have a water butt. Because I live on a farm and it helps to give the anmals water. And it's a very large one and it comes in handy in the summer months. During the winter months it fulls up with a lot of rain water. It's funny when the summer comes the sheep Waite in line for the water. They know it comes from the butt.
Hi nicolajaynehend ah that's so cute! Sounds lovely where you are - lots of nature and tranquility
Hi hspexy I love living here. It's lambing soon. So I hope they will hang on. But knowing them I will get one in bad weather. They don't seem to lamb in good weather . And it's nearly all the time near water. But I love to see the lambs with there mother. Then the fun and games starts because new mother leave there lambs behind. Then you have to find there mother. Then when you do the look on the sheep face is a picture. Meaning to say that s not mine take it away. I do get a lot of laughs from the sheep.
nicolajaynehend aw I bet it's so cute! Hope they are keeping nice and warm in their fleece
