That's pretty much it. You could just update to Windows 10 as Microsoft is offering it free of charge and not have to pay for any updates.

The only reason I've not switched to Linux/Android OS completely is because Windows OS has far more compatibility and legacy programs I have been using for years which aren't available on those two other platforms (there are alternatives instead). Yeah, I could just use the Virtual Box but that's just not that great in the long run.
