It has been reported in the news that the UK Government are going to ask Nightclub Owners to ask people to provide proof of a covid vaccine or a negative test. If that becomes law in September this year will people still go to Nightclubs?. Your views on this topic would be interesting.
I just wished they would make up their mind and actually come up with a plan, explain their plan, and stick to it. At the moment no one has a clue whats going on.
I agree with you wholeheartedly! Be decisive, be clear in explanation and then got for it!
Why would anyone with half a brain even want to go mingling in a Nightclub if they weren't double jabbed 
. Although no longer an almost certain death sentence it is unlikely (even for the young) to be without consequences .

Yes exactly. People keep saying that the young aren't affected. But there have in fact been many cases of young people suffering from long covid and on the odd occasion passing away from it. Whilst the risk to young people is indeed minimal in comparison to the older generation, this doesn't mean that young people are immune. No matter how fit you are, you are not invincible.
Hmm its a hard one because I believe that if you don't want the vaccine you shouldn't be punished are country is divided enough and this covid passport will make it worst
Double jabbed just means 80% - 90% protection from catching it and less chance of serious illness from it .
Herd immunity only kicks in when well over 80% have been vaccinated (or have had Covid ) . There are obviously those who cannot be vaccinated for health reasons so we're on a tight margin to defeat this thing .
Sadly many think its all over ! Was in Morrisons last week (3 days after mask wearing was not mandatory ) and 95 % were wearing masks . Went in today probably about 50% !
It doesn't inconvenience me to wear a mask (to protect others , I know it doesn't protect me ) why is it such a big deal for folks just to do their bit to protect society in general - Beats me !
Golfforall that's your opinion and its peoples choice to have the vaccine if they wish to do so and they shouldn't be punished for it I mean there really is some muppets out there that try to brain wash people over it but some people really do have there own concerns about it and I don't think that's right
Leannexxx .Its not punishment , and hasn't even been announced yet . It's just mooted that in any crowded environment ( Nightclubs , Cinemas , Football matches etc) proof of vaccinations or a negative test is required . For Public Health reasons .
Whether it happens or not is another question , but I think it would be irresponsible for our government not to use all hints , subterfuges etc to convince our population to just get jabbed up .
I'm with you in not wanting those who cannot have the jab to be excluded , but that will only be possible if those who can be vaccinated take up the offer .
I think we are well past the stage where the jab could be considered (by some ) risky , and even the least savvy of our population can hardly deny vaccination has had an amazing effect on the fall in deaths and hospitalisations due to Covid .
Golfforall but that's not gonna happen tho I've been offer it and turned it down I don't feel comfortable bout it but I still wear my mask use hand sanitizer and keep my distance believe it or not but im putting my babys rain cover on raining or not because people have been touching my daughters face my 9 year old told a woman don't touch her sister because of covid
Leannexxx So in effect what you are saying is that for the sake of your daughter you wish everyone else were vaccinated (and thus no threat to her ) ? Yet you choose not to be vaccinated yourself ?
I'm sure you have a very good reason , and here is not the right place to discuss it . I'm also sure you must know that by far the greatest transmissions are within the domestic environment (ie at home ) .
With the greatest of respect , could I suggest that you have this discussion with your GP , could well ease your worries and make life a lot easier for you .
Golfforall no im not saying that at all its a choice to get the vaccine see you don't wanna think about other people opinions because you think that they are selfish and that's fine and I have spoken to my GP and he told me everything about it but also said that i have to feel comfortable bout getting and if I don't that's ok maybe down the line I will be
Leannexxx Worries of course are understandable , maybe the weight of evidence published daily is beginning to change your views . Hopefully your personal views will make no difference and when we get up to 90% of the population vaccinated you need no longer worry for yourself or your children .
Golfforall why will my view change anything? And sorry but ill stand by what I said in my first comment this will divided people, people will get focused to have this vaccine so they can do what they want this vaccine passport is away to control people
I've not been for years but I really am uneasy about the way these plans are going . I've been double vaxed and when I initially heard Boris say about getting into nightclubs and now I heard about people being asked at job interviews if they have been given the vaccined and if they god forbid say no then never hear back about the job . I just believe they are opening a slippery slope and while I do feel safer because of the vaccine I would never in a million years make someone have it if they didn't want it but then at the same time I do think if they knowingly put themselves at risk then it swings and roundabouts if they get caught.
There is 1 other thing I would add as well . Forgery and if it hasn't happend it will happen produce a phone to show you have been double vaxed , letters really wouldn't be that hard to show what people want to see or if the will be ways of getting round it if someone wants to .I will be amazed if people don't try it .
They will , like the vaccinations nothing is 100% sure . The best we can do is make it 90% and then hope for the best .
Unfortunately this Covid is silent and unseen until it gets you ! If we all came out in spots and blotches when we caught it , it would be a lot easier to track and I'm sure the vaccine take up would be near 100% !
I share your discomfort about mandating the vaccination . We must realise that all NHS workers in clinical environments have been legally required to have certain vaccinations (Hepatitis etc) for Public Health reasons . During my time in the Forces I was I was jabbed against everything (most I couldn't even spell ! ) . Wouldn't have been a lot of use to Queen and Country if I had gone down with Beri Beri , Yellow fever , or other Lurgis .
We injected nearly everyone in the world against Smallpox ( before the days of Social media disinformation ) . Guess what - its been eradicated 
, could that have happened today ?
I do share your misgivings but while we have a population made up of the "too clever" and many "not bothered " we have to try to give them a nudge - I hope it doesn't lead to legislation .
If contemplating visiting a night club I would only (with or without any actual law) choose one that did not allow in people who aren't protected by vaccines, with exemptions for those who can't be vaccinated if they had regular checks.
The same goes for any enclosed space that it isn't essential to go to.
The risks of catching the virus statistically diminish with the fewer people who a person comes into close contact with.
I personally think its a stupid idea, also of the younger generation that are the majority of people using the night clubs (lets me honest!), are refusing to get jabbed or had 1 and dont want the second one. I think clubs are going to struggle but i could be wrong 
Here in Ireland, you have to show your Covid ‘passport’ and ID to enter a bar or restaurant. Those that aren’t vaccinated can only sit in outdoor areas. People have accepted it and the system seems to be working okay.

I see it as a straight choice. If you don’t want the vaccine then you can’t go to nightclubs. If you don’t want other vaccines then you can’t visit some countries. You choose. Medical exemptions will be necessary of course.
I think it's perfectly fine to ask for proof your jabbed up. Fore the clubbing side o have not don't that for the best part of 30 years so would not be a decider for me, but as other have said you need some jabs (non covid) to visit other countries so if you want to go you get them done, if you want to go clubbing get them done
Also had a thought, should I be interviewing people for jobs I am likely to ask, if I use that info to actively dismiss people that's unlikely but a consideration
Personally I think it's up to the individual whether they are jabbed or not .
It would appear that most older people have been jabbed, but there is still a lot of doubt amongst the youngsters ie the one's that would generally use nightclubs, this just seems to be another unfair ploy by the government to enforce these vaccinations on them.
I am pro vaccine and am waiting to be invited for my second dose, but I believe that nobody should be forced into having it. Encouraged yes, but not forced. On the other hand, I also respect the decision of businesses and whether or not they want to implement mandatory covid passports or negative covid tests is their choice.
