Valentines Day Cards - How Much Do You Spend?
Ask a Question
The card shops were crazy today with people dashing to get last minute cards for loved ones, some getting the cheap ones for £1 or so, then there’s the mid priced ones for £3-4, and then there were the huge ones for about £10
what type do you normally go for?
My self and husband think they waste of money so don't get each other cards we be having a kabab wrap instead of tacky gifts .
I know what you mean. The amount of rubbish being peddled this time of year for Valentine’s is insane - who wants a stuffed plush avocado?
Lol that was where I would normally go, but Card Factory sell cards cheaper, and if I get the ones on offer, the generic ones with no printed messages on the inside, I get they dirt cheap
We always use Moonpig or funky pigeon so we can personalise the cards but we write on the inside rather than have it typed. Usually you can find a discount code so they cost around £3-4. This year i had an email of Freeprints to say they had brought out personalised cards and were giving them away free and pay only for delivery. So i paid 70p for my wifes
Thanks for the great tip I usually use their codes for making a gift book album for an anniversary or birthday so we can look through our photos that we’d taken throughout the year, but it’s definitely great for Valentine’s too
hspexy yes they are great. Only problem is we dont like to throw the cards away with out photos on so weve got a stack of them hete from over the years
We haven't bothered with Valentines this year so cost me nowt. I am treating him to a chinese tonight tho, but thats more cos I fancy one
I don’t usually spend more than £2 on card whether that’s for birthdays, Christmas etc. I did get a personalised card for Christmas but that was still only £3, wouldn’t spend more on a card.
You can get some nice personalised ones on ebay for £2-5. I tend to get those. Have got some others online in sales too.
We dont celebrate Valentines these days. I much prefer my husband buying a bouquet and bringing it home anytime and usually several times a year. I’ve realised after all these years that Valentines is a hurtful celebration to those single or not in a loving relationship.
Yes, I can imagine it may make some people feel more isolated and depressed. Same goes for Christmasses. But I don’t think people should tiptoe around them, as we are better off celebrating than Worrying about how hurtful it is. But being mindful is important, and include people whenever possible
usually get a cheap but cute card from card factory so dont usually spend more than a couple of pounds on a card.
