What Video Games Are You Buying during Covid-19?

Ask a Question

How's everyone enjoying their time in quarantine? It's a perfect time to complete the series of games that have been sat in you room for a while! I was just wondering what games you have been purchasing during this time - maybe link a good LD link for ones you are purchasing during this time?

Posted a few myself recently, but not bought any. Already have a large backlog of games I've bought in sales and not started yet.

Ooh, will definitely have to have a look at the ones you've posted then - I'm the same with having loads of games to start. Cex is awesome for cheap 3DS games.

MeestairChrees No better time than Quarantine! And I have been a huge Animal crossing fan, Harvest Moon, and love Pokemon Pearl (DS lite). And I have a PS3, DS lite, Wii, Wii U and Oculus Rift S 🙂

I haven't heard of that game - any good? I don't have a PS4, but I have a PS3! What kind of game is it? There's bound to be another game of it for the PS3, haha

1m0g3n It's a shoot em up style role playing game set in Washington DC after a pandemic. I haven't been to Washington DC, but now have a good sense of the layout of the city from playing the game.

ACR That's amazing! I love games with a sense of realism and mapping. It sounds like a good game, ngl

These are games that came out a few years ago but are good to play. Infamous First Light and Infamous Second Son on PS4, possibly Xbox. Also Mirrors Edge on PS4 and Xbox. Both games could also be on other platforms but I’m not 100% sure. Recently started playing Wii Sports again and that’s great fun, also keeps you fit and healthy.

Love Wii Sports! If you get Go Vacation, it's the similar idea but a bit more plot based - worth a good go!

I can think of many better things to do but just happen to have setup the Nintendo Wii today. I may try to complete 'Wii Fit'.

Nintendo Wii is a classic - I love it! If you get on with Wii Fit, try the Wii Sports, or Go Vacation, as although that's not actively encouraging excercise, you do get a bit too into it when you start skiing and moving the wii remotes back, haha!

1m0g3n I appear to have lost Wii Sports but we're half way through setting up Wii Fit with the balance board. I have a NES as well!

A quarantine is usually 2-3 weeks, not months. People are really stretching the definition of "quarantine".

Anyway, I've not bought games as I already have plenty and get bored so I just end up watching The Office (U.S. Version).

It has been six weeks, so I'd consider that Quarantine, since we're in lockdown, personally. I guess it depends on where you live and how people respond to Government Guidelines.

That's a mood - I'm started watching the TaskMaster, but do need to watch The Office at some point - I saw their CPR clip on a first aid course and based off that, I found it so entertaining!

I haven’t bought any but after having it sat there for years I have been on GTA5 for the last few weeks building up online. It passes so much time and I can’t believe I haven’t played on it before up until now, it’s a brilliant game, if that’s what your into lol. I also like COD ww2 & modern warfare.

I've always wanted to play GTA, any of the series. I've heard so many good reviews and watched so many people play it. I have to say it looks incredibly fun, and although it's not what I've usually played in the past, I have wanted to play them for years now. I've heard COD is good fun - not my kind of genre, but if I got on with GTA, I'd probably give COD a go, since we're halfway there, right?

I've been gaming a long time and often find now playing something from my back catalogue is more enjoyable than newer games. My favourite genre is first person shooters with a scripted story and I'm not into multi-player so much. I like to work through levels with a set challenge. Those sort of games don't seem to be made so much now so often I look for mods or expansions of old games rather than new games. For example Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas and Fallout 4 I loved but Fallout 76 I lost interest in very quickly.

Current games I'm looking to buy if I see cheap are 'the outer worlds' plus there a few more games I'll consider if I see super cheap.

Sometimes modded games play and look like a completely different game.

Interesting - I'm not a Call of Duty kind of gal, but you can't go wrong with free games though! Half tempted to get it just because it was free, haha
