Do You Visit the Supermarkets on 24th?

Other

i have a few I visit after lunchtime on the 24th to pick up a load of bargains that I know they will heavily reduce - i find M&S usually offer the most generous discounts

No, no, no...... I'm going to great pains to avoid actual in-person shopping this year - wanted Tesco or Sainburys for our delivery but couldn't get the slots (despite becoming a priority customer and getting up at stupid o'clock) Resigned myself to Asda who I know will cack up the order somehow but ho hum, we'll work with it!

Lol I will admit that you do have to be quite ruthless to be able to handle the masses this time of year, so I don’t blame you

hspexy Yeah jokes on me because idiot Asda have just emailed to say they're not sending a turkey - no substitutes, no nothing (which I requested) so other half has been turfed out to find one by any means. Sigh.

SuzJ oh no that’s terrible of them! I hope you get a turkey elsewhere soon. I saw loads at M&S yesterday, and no one was buying them...think people are holding out for tomorrow

Lol merry Xmas to you too! I do less lurking and more shooting around to see what I can find last minute each and every store, but I’ve had fun chats with people who do lurk around for hours waiting for the final reductions. I wish I had the patience

My mum always used to go to m&s on the 24th and whatever was on offer was what we had for Christmas dinner.

We have always avoided the shops on the 24th but last year had a bit of an emergency supermarket trip, we were stunned to find it empty of crowds queues and squabbling. It seems everyone round here avoids it for the same reasons.

I don’t usually but last year had to dash to Morrison’s as I’d forgotten something. It was sometning silly like rolls to go with the cheeseboard and it was absolutely ramming and I hated it. I won’t make that mistake again x

Definitely, we will go to Aldi tomorrow. We got loads of good deals last year. Wraps, sandwiches, pies, tiffin. Very cheap prices.

My friends husband goes to our local Tesco Christmas Eve half an hour before closing and picks up lots of fresh meat. Only problem is making space in the freezer. My husband wouldn’t dream of doing this!
