Waiting for Surgery
In the News
I am currently waiting for a knee replacement. I don’t know how long I am going to have to wait.
I am sure they are not using the whole of the hospital for covid but maybe they are.
Is anyone else waiting? If you are how long have you been waiting?
I was due to get an operation last September after seeing the consultant at the beginning of the year.I had to have another appointment before the operation and I haven‘t even got an appointment date for that yet. So god knows when I will get the actual operation. But to be honest with you. I have heard of so many people who have gone to hospital with other things and contracted covid while there, so maybe its a good thing at the moment.
Yep paid a private dentist over a thousand and half pounds and said will ring when available
I am waiting to see a neurologist in person since December!
Banged my head in October, didn't think nothing of it until 12 days later when I had excruciating pain radiating from my spine into my into my right side. It started going into spasm for about 5 minutes then I was fine. Since then been under gp, can't tolerate noise or light when headaches are bad. I've got a constant headache that goes up and down in intensity. Was given migraine tablets which narrowed something at the back of my eye. I am now on epilepsy tablets which make me feel out of it and I am being told I am at the top of the list to be seen. Despite being red flagged by accident and emergency and my own gp. I have forgotten how to drive, a lot of my memories are gone, yet all I got is a telephone consultation via the gp and neurologist to put me on the meds that messed up my eye.
Its not so much the beds , its the staff . A huge percentage of nurses and doctors etc have been transferred to the Covid wards.
Hopefully now hospital occupancy is starting to fall staff will slowly start to return to their normal specialties and get the waiting lists moving .
Golfforall my Mum works at the local hospital, she's said the intensive care staff are exhausted. Most of them have permanent scarring due to ppe, one doctor had blisters on his scalp (he's bald) from the masks
I know this is in the news and I’m sure lots are frustrated but you’re alive. I’m sorry you’re in pain which makes daily tasks difficult which I completely understand. Take care and try to be optimistic.
I have been waiting since May and I'm happy to wait because I know the staff have more on their plate than me having a nasal polypectomy
