What Do You Do if You Want to Report Someone Here or Raise some Concerns

Other

Ok, so I have some issues I want to raise and I'm not going to do it in a public forum or underneath posts a person makes here. I'm not aware of a private messaging service and I'm not a mod so I can't flag up anything. How to do I share some concerns in Tom & co?

If you want to report a deal post, you can click on the three little dots (top right) and select 'Report Deal' from the menu

Ah, thank you. The 3 little dots. I didn't know if any mods here could do that. Thank you

Hi ShellyAnn the best bet for a message to go direct to us (me, Tom and Deepak) is to use the contact us page 🙂

Thanks Kelsey. To be honest I'll say right here that I don't think posting links to youtube videos is on. Youtube is full of videos which we can all watch for free. If it is now ok to post links to youtube videos, then I'll go post links to all of Prince's videos that are back up. Not seen for years (as Prince wouldn't allow it) all are now available. Youtube links aren't freebie in the right sense, I don't think. There's also Vimeo. Watched a great film about child abuse abuse in Hollywood there last week. Shall I share it here? I did flag the youtube video as I thought that was silly to post here, but it is still up this morning, so I guess sharing youtube videos counts as freebies.

ShellyAnn Morning 🙂

I'm not sure we've ever had people sharing youtube videos as freebies before so don't believe we have any rules/guidelines about it yet 🙈

I did notice your report and thought to myself "Ah, interesting point. I'm not sure what to do with this 😃"

With things like this our usual approach is to put it out to the community and see what people think.

I can definitely see why allowing all youtube videos to be shared as freebies would be bad - we'd just turn into poor version of youtube and it would be impossible to get to the "actual" freebies. But I can see that perhaps where a movie has been made freely available for the first time, or is perhaps on sale elsewhere at a cost, it might make more sense that it's shared as a freebie.

If you'd like to - please do create a new chat topic (I suggest new only because from the title of this one people won't know what it's about) putting forward your thoughts and hopefully other people will chip in too.

Once we've got a good feel as to what people want we can add to our guidelines 👍

ShellyAnn I have mixed feelings about this. I watch a lot of films on YouTube and more than half of them I have to give up on because the quality is so poor and this film is TV quality so I probably will watch it and haven't come across it from my searches.

I think that they should be put up sparingly as they could swamp the site but this is a free film.

I feel the same way about free downloads. It is hard to believe that people who know how to knit and are looking for patterns or want colouring pages don't know that you can get these online, but maybe some people don't or appreciate links. Maybe there could be sub categories although the site could end up too complicated.

Jaycee5 I posted this before seeing Kelsey's comment about putting up a new thread.
