Do You Watch TV Programme if You Know the Storyline ?
Ask a Question
I was just looking for something on TV that both my husband and I would like. BBC IPlayer suggested The Pale Horse - Agatha Christie. As we had just watched Ordeal by Innocence.
I said I knew the story so he suggested we watch something else, I said I didn't mind watching, to see how this adaptation as it would be hard to come across one of her books I hadn't seen or read.
I often seek out TV shows or films that are based on books I've read. I go into knowing the storyline but I enjoy it, I like to see how close to the book they've stayed, and how they tell the story.
I personally prefer to read a book first then watch the film. This way my imagination works harder. It’s funny how different it can be.
I will often watch something that I know the story of - a historical or real life drama, or an adaptation of a book I have read. I would rarely read a book after watching a tv dramatisation though.
