Do You Still Wear Face Masks?
Ask a Question
Just wondering how people feel about going on public transport these days as more and more people are no longer wearing face masks. Is it time we no longer worry about facemasks and excessive handsanatising?
RegularComper90 thanks for asking! I don't perosn wear them unless around vulnerable people (grandparents, elderly, hospitals etc) on the other hand, covid has meant I have developed some kind of OCD and I love a good hand sanitiser
Hana12 No worries.
To expand on my original answer, I would wear one if I was going to be in an NHS setting where vulnerable are going to be present as well as whenever I visit vulnerable relatives. But for everyday places such as shopping centres and buses I don't bother now.
I also carry around a hand sanitiser as you just don't know where people have been.
RegularComper90 I had an hospital appointment recently. We were wearing our own face masks on entry and asked to put their medical ones instead. I was pleased that everyone in the waiting room still adhered to wearing them.
Not often I wear masks anymore. I keep one in my bag just in case and if I'm on a bus for example and people are coughing near me ill put it on
No.
Even when they were "mandatory" people didn't wear them, well, some did as they wanted.
No I haven't worn a mask in quite a while now, the only time I can think of recently is when I took my daughter to the doctors and where they still request you wear one.
Midnightflower yes my GP practice is the same. Maybe with it being a place where your more likely to contract it
Iv given up the mask unless i am in a medical setting where it is required. We all needed to go back to normality at some point.
SaveMeSunday yes its been going on for so long. It does feel like we need to move on and woll most certainly have to live with covid
It depends on the setting and if I am around vulnerable people. Generally I don’t wear them but I am not opposed to putting one on
amylumsden11 yes I am the same with my grandparents who have a very bad immune system
I have to wear one at work still as work in a pharmacy (it’s rubbish as no other pharmacy companies wear them anymore except the company I work for), but don’t otherwise when not working.
Not since i was told I didn’t have to. Still respectful of distance, wash my hands regularly and cover my face when cough or sneeze but did all that long before covid
It depends what setting I am in or if there are vulnerable people around. With the rise in cases where I live I am thinking about starting to wear one again when in the supermarket.
I don't wear one now unless it's a hospital/doctors appointment or if I'm visiting my dad who has Aplastic Anaemia and is currently undergoing treatment and they have suppressed his immune system so I pop a mask on and keep my distance still for his sake.
Where I live, you have to wear them for hospital and doctors appointments, but that's the only time I wear them now.
nope, i dislike them and dont tend to carry one unless asked to wear one in a situation were its reasonable eg around hospital, sickly people or obviously someone who has covid or if i ever got it again myself.
I always wear a face mask when leaving my house to use public transport, entering all shops and I always use my own hand sanitiser or the shop's. So far I haven't caught Covid, but I do know of people who had it and wished they had taken this "rule" seriously.
rubydooby some still wish they were living in those dystopian times.
They're free to wear it, but that's it, they can't force or attack someone (emotionally or physically) to wear it (it happened during 2020 and even 2021).
PhilipMarc yes i agree everyone should have there own choice about whether to wear them or not but now it’s not compulsory no one can force someone else to wear one
No, not for COVID reasons. I sometimes have to wear them for work, depending on the setting, and sometimes I’m sniffly due to hayfever so I might wear it to block out the irritants
Nope got rid of em as soon as it was announced cant really prove its helping anyone also having to wear to work made it harder to breath and not good for skin too
I have just been a cruise and unfortunately somehow covid got on. These people were quarantined and the rest of us were asked to wear masks. It was a personal choice but you were frowned upon if you didn’t. You could see it in their eyes!
eyeballkerry this is unfair, if its personal choice then I don't see what the issue is. You put your mask on if you don't want to breath in someone else germs so what's the issue. If it was that important they should just make it compusolry
Hana12 I totally agree. The other issue was people had health issue so did not wear masks but the looks they got. I was in the lift once, without a mask and people did not want to get in. Result, I had the lift to myself!
eyeballkerry thats very true! Many people have thier reasons and are exempt.. safe to say.. it was there loss you were safer in the lift alone!
eyeballkerry omg I know how they feel, I used the mask sometimes too for personal reasons as well.
I don't know why but it's makes me laugh when I am walking down a street and there's this person driving their car on their own with face mask on like seriously your not gonna give yourself COVID !
