Do You Wear Shoes Indoors?

Ask a Question

Some people donโ€™t mind wearing shoes indoors but for some as soon as youโ€™re indoors shoes come off. What do you do?

I nearly always never wear shoes indoors unless I go out and forget something then I quickly tip toe with my shoe on to get what I need.

I take my shoes off as soon as I get indoors, just because it feels more comfortable to me. I have slipper socks that I like to wear around the house.

Shoes outside and then they depend on the season. Inside it's either flipflops (summer) or mules/full slippers as the weather gets colder.

Shoes come off in the porch as soon as I come home. Don't like the idea of bringing all the muck from outside into my house. I wear flip flops or slippers around the house depending on the season. Always make guests remove their shoes too ๐Ÿ˜‚

I never wear shoes indoors, I would feel so uncomfortable walking around with shoes on in my own home. It does get on my nerves when people walk from room to room in my house with shoes on. It is horrible stepping on stones and leaves that have fallen off peoples shoes. I can't think of anything better than relaxing with a pair of fluffy slippers and a cup hot chocolate in this cold weather

Absolutely not, my carpets are cream lol. Besides that even from a small child I was brought up to take shoes off, a sign of respect. Even now if asked into someones house I would automatically take my footwear off.

We never wear shoes in the house at home - either slippers or socks. When I visit another persons home, I always ask would they like me to remove my shoes.

I wear slippers indoors. I wouldnโ€™t want the outside muck from my shoes going all over the place indoors

I always take my shoes off before leaving the house . Not fair on others to trail all my muck over our nice clean streets .

I think it's bad manners not to offer to remove shoes when visiting and now I simply ask people to do it if they don't offer!

I think itโ€™s rude to be expected to take your shoes off after all Iโ€™m not Japanese. You really wouldnโ€™t appreciate the smell if I had trainers on haha๐Ÿ˜‚

lornaae I wouldnโ€™t wear dirty shoes plus most people have a door mat. I have a mat outside in porch area and one inside with a chair if people take their shoes off but I always say no need.

Now I go against that ... ๐Ÿ˜ because if you're visiting then they're my carpets you're on and if you walk something in would it then be my bad manners to ask you to clean it up? In fairness tho ... for over 20 years we did live surrounded by sheep muck and believe me that's impossible to remove all signs of!

We don't wear shoes indoors, there is so much cr*p in the pavements (dog walkers - I mean what you leave behind - even if you think you pick it all up, there is a residue). The carpets would be disgusting if you didn't take them off.

we're the same .... I was brought up to wear slippers but with my weird feet I now have 'indoor' trainers for better support....change into them as soon as home.

I wear my shoes into the hall and then take them off and put my slippers on. I always take my shoes off in other people's homes. My parents wear their shoes in my house when they visit, but that's because we have wooden floors so they are easy to clean.
